hercules has cancer (mastocytoma). - updated sat morning -
his next appointment is monday and we won't know what his next steps are until then. for now, just pain meds, antibiotics, and antihistamines to prevent spreading.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

so far the medications are working well, i've been too afraid to touch the lump (it's bleeding and oozing), but h has touched it here and there to gauge how it's doing....he said it feels slightly smaller, so there was definitely an infection in there that is getting fixed.
they're going to do a test on monday, after the medication does a little more magic, to decide what stage it's at. if it's a more severe stage, then that's it.......
if it's a lesser stage, then they can operate and we'll just wish for the best.

so we got home from work yesterday, and we noticed the lump has "changed" a lot (i'll spare the gory details). we called the doc, and she said to take him in to the ER.
at the ER, the doc seems very optimistic and is almost aggressively pushing us toward chemo, etc...which H and i really don't want to do for him because of his age. they did an abdomen ultrasound (no, he's not pregnant!), and a chest xray, and the good news is the cancer has NOT spread and is isolated.
doc now has him on 2 additional meds....5 total now (steroids and an antacid in addition to pain, antibiotic, antihistamine) to shrink the tumor some more, and it looks like it's working so far.
sometime next week, we will decide if it's time to remove the tumor or not.
