You need to report back on that!  I saw that advertised somewhere and it looked entertaining!

  • Yeah, DH and I missed the signups.  Please report back.  We plan on doing it next year.

  • H is running in the last wave. I think it looks like fun but so not my thing lol. He is going to love it though.

  • Ok, in short.  Don't do it!  Wow. What an s show.  We were set to get there 2 hours early and within 3 miles we hit the back up to park and it took us 2 hours to go 3 miles.  Then you park, wait for shuttles.  The actual race itself was awesome but when you are in a bad mood from 2 hours of traffic it is kind of hard to enjoy it.

Becky- did he get to run??  Everyone was so late and everything was so pushed back I heard a ton of people didn't even get to run!  I would have been so pissed.

  • A friend's husband was running and said it was HORRIBLE. They sat in traffic for 3 hours, the staff was confused, all of the lines were long, and she was charged $35 to watch the finish line. Also, her husband's packet was missing his number and they were sent three different places to try to get it.

  • I was just coming on to say that DH's cousin participated and said exactly what you did, Hoosier.  He LOVED the race itself, but said everything outside of that was ridiculous and a disorganized mess.  What a shame!

Did you at least "survive"? :)

  • I did survive!  My friends "died" early so I just ran with them and used them as a shield.  Worked out well for me :)

My DH actually finished 24th out of the 5,000 or so that survived.  That  made him enjoy the race a little more.

  • Haha, he ran and went off early actually. He loved it. We didn't park - we saw the back up on google maps so took another route, dropped them off directly at the race and then we went to Port Deposit lol. We werent planning on paying to spectate anyway. It seemed horribly organized - like they just weren't prepared for the sheer number of attendees, which is dumb bc people registered haha. DH loved it though. People were letting runners park in their yards etc. It was just a poor location IMO - there are only so many ways to get there.

  • Wow, a race that cost $60+ to run and then they charged spectators $35 to watch? That is insane.  I'm glad I had the race for the cure yesterday so I decided not to do it.

That's why I decided not to do it. I was all set and ready to register and when I saw the registration fee I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I can't pay that much money to run! And the fee for just watching was pretty outrageous too.

  • We don't live too far from it and it took my neighbor almost 4 hrs to get there.  My Aunt raced in the AM so it was better but still a nightmare.  I heard many say they were so unorganized.  I know people who live around there and they had zombies in their yards, running over their cars....made for some very unhappy people.  I have a feeling our County will be receiving many negative calls.

I heard the spectator fee was $22 and that is just absolutely ridiculous considering you also pay $10 to park.
