  Hiya! My husband and I are both active duty Air Force; him for 9 years, me for 6. I have not been to hurlburt, my husband has many times, I'd definately like the chance though! Consider yourself lucky. Anyways....don't worry about getting lost on base. You really can't do anything to get into trouble unless you're stealing, speeding, running stopsigns...obvious stuff like that. Areas that are restricted will be clearly marked and usually barracaded so, the chances of you wandering into areas like that are slim. Do you guys live on base? If so keeping your yard up is a big deal, and not hoarding animals and letting them destroy the house (this is common...). Be prepared for him to go TDY (if he's in a job that goes TDY...like aircraft maintainers or if he's a flyer) and deploy frequently if he's in one the jobs I listed. My husband is flying crew chief, he's gone one or two weeks out of every month, and is deploying in Jan for 4-6 months as far as we know. The base has tons of resources for spoudses of deployed airman. The airman and family readiness center is the place to go for ANY kind of help. Most bases have a spouses club, and most squadrons have their own spouses clubs. Its a good way to meet other people. There are also alot of volunteer opportunities for spouses. Visit the airman and family readiness center; they will have a welcome package with all kinds of details on resources available to you. If you all are the church going kind, the chapel on base is also another great resource; even if you're not they still sponsor alot of get togethers and outings. OH, also your outdoor recreation will usually offer all kinds of deals on local theme parks or other local outings. Check them out too. As a military member/spouse, you guys also get free admission to places like sea world, disney world, bush gardens once a year. You can usually get your family members discounted admission if they're with you; i got my sister in law in for $30 at sea world in San diego. Anways, TONS of resources and clubs available to you. Got to airman and family readiness center! ask your husband to get info on his squadrons spouses club. Welcome to the AF!

   Whenever we get to a new base I always take a day to drive around and get my barrings.  Everyone always gets lost, but you will figure it out sooner or later.   I wouldn't worry about doing anything to get your H in trouble just make sure to be respectful of yourself and others.

  Thank you. We have been to the Airman and Family Readiness center. However I didnt know that services like that were there. I will def check that out. We are supposed to try to move on-base. He does work on aircraft. He is still in training for that for another couple months. Also how often do you move? And how common is it for aircraft workers to get deployed? I get nervous when it comes to that word. Thank you so much for the help and advice. I hope you have a wonderful day!:)

  My H is a Pilot in the AF. I don't know how often your H's job will deploy but they keep my H pretty busy. Our base in general has been the busiest it's ever been, but things should be slowing down now that things are changing w/ Libya.

  I know my H deploys anywhere from 3 to 9 months but deploys more often (ie. multiple times in a year) then other branches. 

  Ask your H if their is a Spouse Group for his squad. It was really easy for me to find ours on Facebook. They usually do things monthly plus they should also have a group for Enlisted Spouses.  Great resources to tap

  There are so many resources for people exactly like you. AFRC that someone mentioned is one. Outdoor Rec or MWR (Morale Welfare and Recreation) has a bunch of cool stuff from campers you can rent to tickets to the opera. Looking for anything on facebook regarding Hurlburt is a great idea. When I moved to my current base (I'm AD as well as DH) I joined the spouses FB group for my career field, my husband's career field, and the base one. I've made some great friends. Don't worry so much about getting him in trouble.  You won't.
