Have you seen this? It was posted on the C-Section board of TB, and upon watching it, I immediately thought of your post a while ago about the experiences of c-section moms. It's about woman-centered cesareans, and I think it's worth watching. I wish I had (or will be able to have in the future) an experience more like the one presented in the clip. Hopefully more operating/delivery rooms will adopt more of this natural approach to c-sections in the US. I wish, especially, that they had done the slower procedure w/Sawyer to allow that extra time to contract some of the fluid from his lungs. Instead, he gagged and gurgled with raspy breaths because of it for the first several days of his life. And being able to have had that skin-to-skin contact and immediate breastfeeding possibility would have been amazing. Instead, he & DH were whisked out of the room within the first 5 minutes of delivery while I laid on the operating table listening to the surgeon talk about his lifelong dream of opening a bar that had La-z-boys for barstools. Definitely ruined the "I just had a baby" high...
