Amazon overseas?

Anyone have experience with using Amazon for another country?

I'm not going home for xmas this year so am thinking about gifts both to and from my family. Whenever my mom ships something here it ALWAYS gets caught up in customs, without fail. Would it be possible for me to do an Amazon.co.uk wish list they could purchase from with a US card? And vice versa? Or do you know of any website I can buy from without having to worry about customs etc?

Re: Amazon overseas?

  • My parents and I buy stuff all the time from Amazon UK. We never have any problems with them. They just bring it to my house and I dont have to worry about customs or picking it up at the post office. If I am not home, then they will call me and they set up a time to drop it off.

  • I order from Amazon.co.uk all the time with a non uk card. Never had any issues for things shipped here, in the UK or Australia.
  • I use Amazon.co.uk all the time.  It is linked to my Amazon.com account, so all of my payment methods are already loaded in, all I have to do is select my UK shipping address instead of my US address.  Easy peasy.

Unfortunately, if you are an Amazon Prime member, the free shipping DOES NOT apply to shipping on Amazon.co.uk items, so you will still have to pay for shipping.

  • We've set up amazon.co.uk wish lists for our families in the US/Canada the past few years and it works like a dream.  No problem for them to pay, and so much easier in terms of shipping.

  • Fantastic - thanks ladies!!
  • I've ordered from amazon.com, .de, .it and .co.uk and have had things sent to both NL and the US and ordered with both Dutch and US cards and it always works fine.

I'd ask them to make wish lists on .com so you have cheap shipping to them and then you make your wishlist on .co.uk and they have the same benefit. Shouldn't be a problem!
