I've made a scarf with a knifty knitter. My mom made all hat/scarf sets for Christmas one year with the knifty knitter, too.
I will find them and PIP for you.

I don't have any pictures, but I have made scarves, hats, and socks with the knifty knitter. I also have a snap together loom that works well to make afghans and shawls.
I don't really have a preference between the loom and the needles, though I do think that looming is pretty cool and it's fun discovering how versatile it can be.
