QOTD - Monday (Halloween)
I'm going to try to make this week's questions Halloween related.
Out of all of the Halloween costumes you have worn, what was your favorite? This could be something from when you were a kid or an adult.
Re: QOTD - Monday (Halloween)
I was a peacock 5 years ago and it is still my favorite...I love the sassy showgirl vibe. Sadly, can't quite pull it off anymore!
OK, well, none of mine are related to my hot bod because I never dressed up as an adult.
But when I was little (maybe 5?) I was Supergirl for Halloween. I loved that costume. And afterward I would pretend to fly by jumping off the arm of our couch onto the cushions.

I'm so mad that I can't find a photo right now, but DH & I were Joy and Earl from My Name is Earl a few years ago and we totally rocked it (though dmuppet & Otto did too, if I remember correctly!)
A few years back, we had 5 friends of so that dressed up as the characters from Reno 911 for a party. It was fun to be part of a big group costume.

I've never dressed up as an adult, but as a kid, my family once went out in drag together. I loved it so much. Also, yes, my parents have a twisted sense of humor.
My favorite one as a child was Miss America- my mom made my dress of this silver lame material and it was awesome. I felt so grown up with all of the hair/ makeup/ sparkles- I loved it.
My favorite as an adult was my senior year of college when H was Hugh Hefner and I was a Bunny. There's a picture somewhere out there on the internet, but I prefer to think it would be exceptionally hard to locate, although that may not be true.
Stand up for something you believe in.
i love halloween and still dress up given the opportunity!
as a kid: i too loved being madonna one halloween. i even had a pink sweatshirt with the neck, sleeves, and waistband cut off.
as an adult: my gay boyfriend and i went as wednesday and pugsly addams (of course, he was a very skinny, very pretty version of pugsly)
When I was 6 years old my mom made me a handmade carebear costume. It was the best costume ever & she worked so hard on it. Her friend made her son a matching one and we went trick or treating together. I think we even won some sort of town costume contest.
Then in my Freshman year of college I went to a Halloween Frat party on a blind date where I was a black cat. And on that blind date was where I met my husband, he was not my date but I met him at that party and we've been together ever since that night.
When I was about 5 or 6, my mom made me a Little House on the Prairie costume with a sunbonnet! I LOVED it.
I've never been one for the sexy costumes, and I went to college in the midst of grunge, so one year for Halloween a girlfriend and I swapped our "signature" flannel shirts and went as each other :-)
As a kid, my mom made me a coca-cola can costume. She's a great artist and particularly great at lettering. She took a couple of pieces of red poster board and painted an exact replica of the can - the logo, the ingredients, the bar code, everything. Then she made a cardboard ring with a hole in the center and covered that in foil for the top, and attached the poster board - the foil ring went over my head and the can covered my body. The only problem was that it didn't have arm holes, so I couldn't hold my treat bag! She had to hold it for me.
As an adult, my favorite costumes were Lilo and Stitch with me as Lilo (mom helped me make her mu-mu) and my friend as Stitch, or my "witch" costume at the party that was my first date with DH even though I didn't know it was a date (long story). That basically consisted of a short black skirt with tights & boots, a t-shirt from target with a witch on it and a black hat. I still have the t-shirt, and I'm sure I'll be rocking it some time this week (probably with jeans, though - can't quite pull off the short skirt anymore, and it's not really work-appropriate
)
I never really dressed up as an adult but my roommates went as two cans of Beast (aka Milwaukee's Best) and it was one of those classic college moments. The only bad part was that they were unable to sit down all night.
My mom is an excellent seamstress (but, woah! not like those carebears!) and always made my costumes. My favorite was either Minnie Mouse (with this great tulle-lined skirt) or a '50s girl with a pretty purple poodle skirt. Of course, the one that resurfaces as blackmail is the witch costume (my first Halloween costume) that I would wear to bed most nights (with photos to prove it) because, dammit, I wanted to wear a witch hat to bed or else have a tantrum (there might be a photo of me having a tantrum in it as well).

Kelxoxo-That peacock costume is awesome!
It is really hard to pick my favorite costume! I've had so many awesome ones! I think my favorite childhood one is my 50's girl costume. Complete with felt poodle skirt, sweater draped over my shoulders, and wearing my dad's class ring on a necklace!
My favorite adult one so far is my rainbow brite one. It was the first costume I sewed myself and it turned out rather well. I in no way can fit into it now, but it was awesome. And I sincerely hope there are no pictures of it since I don't have any. The skirt was a wee bit short!
My favorite was when I was Tweety Bird, my mom was Sylvester, and my dad was Bugs Bunny. I think that was the one and only time my dad dressed up.
