Where can I find a rocking chair cushion?

I already have a rocking chair for the nursery but need a cushion.

I could order one online but I'm not sure how to measure it so I figured picking a few up at a store and trying them out would be easier than trying to ship them back if I didn't like them/didn't fit.

Re: Where can I find a rocking chair cushion?

  • So what about taking a piece of fabric or paper (tissue paper would work for size) and tracing the seat. That will give you a easy, portable idea of the size and shape.

Take it with you to maybe Home Goods and hold it up to some of the pillows and cushions they have there.

  • Pier 1, Homegoods, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Ross
  • I dont know how crafty you/family are but if worse comes to worse you can make one--use the big block of foam from JoAnn Fabrics cut to the correct shape/size and cover in a thin layer of batting to kind of smooth out the edges and create more softness, and then sew a cover out of whatever heavy weight material you like. Gussets are key. I did this once years ago for both the seat and the back (I hate those spindles digging into my spine) and its still fabulous. Its a lot more work than buying but it can be much more custom as well.

Not crafty at all and getting close on time.
