The mosquitoes are eating us alive!
Are they bad everywhere, or are they all just breeding in my yard?
I went outside to the car and was SWARMED by like 40 of them. I have never seen such a thing! After DS and I got in the car (then killed the 15 that came in with us!), I crawled over to the front seat so I wouldn't have to open the door again.
It's TERRIBLE! And it doesn't help that they usually love me.
Re: The mosquitoes are eating us alive!
Based on FB comments from friends all over Houston, they seemed to be bad EVERYWHERE in the area this past weekend!
I mean, it was INSANE on Saturday. We were out playing & riding bikes in the front yard and they were EVERYWHERE! Then we went to a fall festival nearby and they were still bad there, even with bug spray. Later that night @ Oktoberfest on the island, they didn't seem to be so bad....who knows if that was just a coincidence.
Today we were out at another fall festival in a park, and they were pretty bad there, too. Even with bug spray, they still swarmed nearby and would sometimes bite anyway!
I have never seen them this bad in all my life!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to have someone cover one of my classes so I can find bug stuff for practice outside!!
It's horrible!
It's insane! I can't remember them ever being this bad.
Thanks for the info. From that article: "While there are a few different species of floodwater mosquitoes, they tend to be on the larger side, have a more noticeable bite, and may bite through light clothing, he said."
Good to know that they bite through clothes. I've noticed that I have bites everywhere, even on my back. I'm pretty sure I had a shirt on every time I went outside so I was wondering about that. LOL.

We used the Cutter stuff you hook up to the hose for the yard and then DH bought the Cutter fogger you spray near the doors. It is supposed to keep them away for a few weeks. Well, in the past it has worked really well. This time it cut down the number we have, but they are still there. They are in the house, car, everywhere.
Poor DS told me he had bees in his room when I got him outta bed this morning. He heard a mosquito buzzing around his crib and thought it was a bee.

DH went to several places yesterday to buy some more Off because we were down to Maddie's sensitive skin formula only and he was about to use it all do mow the lawn. There was nothing. No yard and deck fogger, nothing.
Wanted to post here that if you hadn't thought about it already, you can buy it online. I have Amazon prime (2-day free shipping) so I ordered some this morning to have by Wednesday. I don't want to mess with Trick or Treating without any repellent. I also ordered one of those clip-on things so M and I could wear them with our costumes on Monday.
I'm sure you can also get it at drugstore.com and lots of other online retailers.
