I was reading this story on KETV about tracking devices being offered in Sarpy county for people with special needs to help locate them if they go missing, and was wondering if these were offered as a option to parents to have for their children, regardless if they are special needs or not, would you do it? As a way to track your child that could in used in the event (god forbid) they are taken? or go missing?
Would you do it as a safe-guard? Is it too 'Big Brother' like?

Dude....if it was something that the kid couldn't take off...I would so do it! I am also the mom that would love to have that GPS feature on a cell phone so you know where you kid is once that hit the age where they would have a phone.
If I hear a strange noise at night the first thing I do is go check on Cooper.
Thanks!! I recognized little S about 10 seconds after you walked past me and asked Amy if it was you!! You guys were so cute!
Yup. I agree.
This from the Mom that keeps a baseball bat by the bed...and has an escape route in my mind at all times. Thanks Zombieland.
We had it on SS phone for a bit when he lived with us, and I'd do that again in a heartbeat when they are older, and I would also put a tracker on them now if I could..biggest fear of mine is that someone would take them.
added random--this reminds me of last week's Modern Family where Phil tracks Hailey to a college party (it was a pretty funny moment).
*P.S. i have had students grounded b/c their parents tracked their location and they had left a school event early, etc. it signaled if they left more than 500 yards/feet from their location?
