My divorce is almost final... but my marriage was long over by the time I left. I wasn't looking to date at all, I wanted to take as much time to get back on track and dates could find me. But, since moving back to my hometown, my ex from high school has came into my life again. we have only went on short dates just to dinner, and he knows what I'm going through so isn't pushing anything. Is this bad to do? I'm just looking at this as a friend thing, but my small town has seen us out together and I'm sure it is going around as more. I know whats going on so I don't care but just wondering... when did you guys start again?
Re: when did you date again
Yeah I agree.
I had been checked out of my marriage a while... probably mid 2009? We split Aug 2010 and I started dating Sept 2010 - divorce was finalized Sept 2011 .. He started dating somebody Jan 2011.. (but yet, wouldn't sign the paperwork until August 2011...)
It took me about a year to be ready to date. I was taken off gaurd by the end of my relationship though... it basically ended in one day! So, I needed time to get myself together.
i started dating right away.
i had been pretty checked out of my marriage for a while, and on a trip for work i got to get to know someone from work that i've know for years. So while even if i hadn't gotten to know him, i'd have left eventually, i sped it up so i could be with him.
in my case everyone thought i should enjoy being single and i shouldn't rush into things. but i enjoyed a lot of time being single and had more than enough fun for 10 people while i was in college and before i got married when me and EXH were broken up. I also know that "this" was the right person that this is what a relationship is supposed to feel like. i was not going to pass that up because everyone else thinks you need time after a divorce.
