  • I've been wondering the same thing!
  • Hi ladies, I was not going to forget to update you :)

The weekend and the wedding actually all came together.  Of course, it could not all be smooth.  Here is some of what I remember.

Many of us spent most of Saturday helping set up.  I was in charge of centerpieces and put together about 60 small vases filled with cute mums and greens.  I had help from others who cut the mums for me and then put them on the table.

My SILs could not find their bridesmaids dresses when they returned from getting their hair done on the way to pictures.  I am not sure where they ever found them.

The bride's daughter, a 5 year old cutie, was not the most cooperative during pictures.  Some of us had suggested months ago. that there be someone outside the wedding party to help be responsible for her.  The bride did not appreciate this suggestion.  So there were some temper tantrums on Sunday which included her mini veil getting thrown in the flower beds during pictures and banging her bouquet on a table (the flowers were fake!)  So when one of my SILs brought up having someone watch the bride's daughter, the bride stomped away and said, "She's 5, she's fine!"

The wedding ceremony was nice, although we all agreed that the pastor was a bit creepy.  He did not blink!  We just got a weird vibe from him.  (Only BIL and new SIL go to this church).

We did not notice until after the ceremony (and the reveal pictures) that none of the guys were wearing the bouts!  Ooops, those were forgotten at the reception.  My SIL had made them while I did the centerpieces.  The guys put them on before we were announced at the reception.

The potluck worked out!  There was a lot of food and a TON of desserts!  I think people would have liked more main dishes but overall, I think people were full.

    Now for my AW:

DH has so cute all weekend.  As the best man, he gave a really nice speech that was heartfelt and funny.   During the ceremony, he kept smiling and mouthing I love you or I heart you.  Very cute.   His family who came to town kept commenting on how cute we were and as in love if not more since I own wedding day last year.

Finally to top it off, I took a personal day yesterday so I got to sleep in, have breakfast with the family, and get stuff done that did not get done.

  • I'm glad it all came together nicely!  5 year olds will be 5.. but that doesn't mean they don't need an extra hand! haha.  Glad you all had fun though!  :D
