what is your fav local restaurants/holes in the wall? list the neighborhood/city it's in and what's so great about it.

we're having twins!
Re: fav local restaurant?
You're going to get more than just one from me!
Goldenbeetle - Ballard. It's amazing and tapas style, so you get to try a ton of stuff. Nice staff and a changing menu so you can try something new every time you go.
Naan & Curry - Renton. Some of the best Indian I've ever had. The owner is a trip and makes dining there fun.
Mike's Chili Parlor - Ballard. Comfort food at it's finest. Chili with chili and a side of chili basically, but it's cheap and great.
i've never had indian food. i'd love to try and this is in my neck of the woods. what would you recommend ordering?
Yummy Teriyaki- Federal Way- everything is sooo good here. the owner is so adorable and she just LOVES us. we've been going since junior high and she remembers us every time we come in! love it.
Chao Praya- Kent- best yellow curry ever.
(i obv need to branch out.
)
Doc's Bar and Grill: Good Food and love the overall vibe of the restaurant.
Silver City:Great food and great locally brewed beer.
DH and I love:
Paseo (cuban sandwiches) in Ballard and Freemont.
Pam's Kitchen (carribean) on the Ave in U-District.
Marzano's (italian) in Parkland near PLU.
And we drive to Oly occasionally just to have brunch at Sage's. If you're in Oly, you also have to get coffee at Olympia Coffee Roasting Co.
We also like Bangkok Garden (thai) in Federal Way.
How in the world did I miss list Paseo! DH and I pick up sandwiches and have picnics at Golden Garden quite frequently in the summer.
Another vote for Paseo and Naan and Curry, however, I didn't care for Red House at all.
AQUA (Formerly Waterfront Seafood Grill) on pier 70
Cap Hill:
Supreme 611
La Spiga
Monsoon (I'm really embarrassed to admit to this one bc my mom's food is just as good, but sometimes I just want Vietnamese food somewhere other than my parents house)
Kirkland:
Cafe Juanita
Downtown:
Mistral Kitchen
Fremont:
Brouwers
A few locations in Seattle and the East side:
Tutta Bella
Renton:
Peyrassol
Berliner
Ballard:
Volterra
Bastille - the only thing that I don't like is that it can get loud
This is heaven! (And maybe some cupcakes on the way home). DH and I discovered Paseo this year. We live near Tacoma but got married at Golden Gardens. He made me drive up to Paseo several times, just to go eat a sandwich and drive home. : )
Wallingford
Bizzaro - the food there is just /so/ amazing. I have never had gnocchi as soft and pillowy as there. It just melts on your tongue and the clam linguine is so great (traditional, but with a twist) and their elk bolognese is fantastic.
Tilth - We are not fans of the dinner, but the brunch? Holy cow. So much love. I have never had an egg so perfect as it is done here.
Fremont
Chiso - my favorite sushi restaurant ever. Hiro-san is just a wonderful sushi chef and inventive.
Kappo Tamura - my other favorite sushi place. Taichi used to own Chiso, before he sold the business in order to focus on a different style of sushi restaurant, an extension of his old Chiso Kappo.
Royal Grinders - some of the best sandwiches in Fremont. D and I used to bike down the Burke Gilman to go grab a sandwich and eat it on one of the benches that overlook the Fremont canal area right next to Adobe.
Revel - I really love the unique take on Korean-style dumplings and the fusion Korean-French food here. I actually prefer this to Joule.
Ballard
Portage Bay Cafe - I know there are other locations, but we go to this one the most cause it's just down the street. I always get the seasonal shrimp and grits.
SLU
Mistral Kitchen - They don't have their fabulous bartender anymore. They don't have their fabulous pastry chef anymore. But the food here? It's still pretty spectacular, though I will miss the D&D dice-thrown based drink.
Capitol Hill
Tavern Law - What is there not to love about a bar that also has a not-so-secret secret speakeasy upstairs that you either have to have the password to get in to or have an interesting voice when you call the bartender upstairs from the phone next to the locked vault door? I love it. One of these days, I want to go decked out in all 1920s style with my friends.
Queen Anne
Canlis - Not just for dinner, but the lounge? And the bartender? Amazing drinks, and I love drinking.
mukilteo - diamond knot - pub
a little greek place in downtown edmonds...don't know the name of it. it's on the corner.
rainier ave - tea garden - chinese food
mukilteo - amici bistro - italian

I didn't even know such a thing existed until I visited this place. You're going to have to tell me about the places you know that do it too! Oh, and the restaurant is in the Factoria area of Bellevue, just an FYI.
