It was 55 degrees in my house yesterday when we got home; brrrrr! Once I get a chill, it's hard to get it out of my head and I wore my wool coat to work today ![]()
Brazil was fun, mostly because we got to catch up with some friends and had a great time at the wedding. The weather sucked though. We only got one sunny day in Rio out of five full days there, if you can believe it; the rest of the time it rained nearly non-stop and when it wasn't raining it was completely gray, foggy, and overcast. Of course, the day we left to fly down to Sao Paulo (where the wedding was), it was gorgeous and I was so bitter ![]()

On the up side, we did manage to get a little beach volleyball in on the one nice day we had and squeezed in a still somewhat foggy trip up Corcovado and Sugar Loaf to see Christ the Redeemer. It would have sucked to go all that way and not see a modern wonder of the world!
Our friend used his miles to upgrade us to business class on the flight home and it was soooo nice. Definitely makes a long trip so much better. Still, I didn't get enough sleep on the flight and ended up crashing for a few hours once we got home yesterday. I'm sure I'll be out of it for the rest of the week at least--where's my vacation from my vacation? ![]()

Re: Dang, people, it got COLD while I was gone!
I was wondering about you this past weekend!
Sounds like a nice trip, aside from the weather!
Aww, thanks!
This was by far the rainiest vacation I've ever had. No sun and sand in Rio, and then I come home to this cold! Booooo!
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

Sorry to hear about the crappy weather, but it sounds like you had a nice trip!
I'm definitely not happy about the chilly weather either!
Welcome back Rock!! Glad to hear you had a nice trip aside from the weather.
Glad you had a good time! Well besides the rain.
(And anytime I see/hear Christ the Redeemer now, all I can think of is An Idiot Abroad and how he thought Christ just had a really big chin, heh.)
The wedding was great. The hotel and party company did a great job transforming the space and making it really lovely. There were flowering branches, candles, lots of roses, uplighting, etc. The food was delicious, speeches were lovely, and bride and groom seemed really happy.
No pictures yet. They're all still on my camera and I've got a million and one things to catch up on. That's what happens when you're offline for a week and a half!
