A friend of mine that does photography took some family pictures and pics of Leighton and Sydney. I'm thinking about buying the copyright from her rather than purchasing the pictures from her.
Where would be the best place to have these pictures printed? She suggested Rockbrook but she has hers printed from an online company.
Would you recommend Rockbrook or Harolds (Sioux City) or does anyone have a good online company we could use? I really don't know much about this but would want good, high quality prints!!
Any help or insight would be appreciated:)
Also, I was looking on Rockbrook's website and they have metallic printing listed...What is that?
Re: Printing Pictures?
Metallic is a high contrast paper that has a shiny (metal like) finish. I usually recommend them for highly saturated images (greens especially pop well) or high contrast b&w's.
mpix.com for sure!
If you enter the code BIGSALE at checkout, you will get 15% off your order, which may be a savings big enough to cover the shipping depending on how much you order! That code is good until tomorrow, but if you sign up on their website they always email you deals.
I haven't tried mpix yet, (but may with our pics from Amy when we get them!!
I have used Rockbrook several times though and they always turn out really well. I have been buying the cd/copywrite for our school pictures the last few years and take them there to get wallets, and also got all of my SS senior pics there as well and they turned out really nice...I'm pretty impatient, so not sure if I could wait for them to get here if I ordered online!
I want to try the metallic as well!
mpix.com is great and, typically, ships the same day or next, so you have them in hand in a matter of 2-3 days. Be sure, though, to click the "do not color correct" option if you want them to look like they do on your computer screen.
Metallic paper is neat, but I suggest trying to print one metallic to get a feel for what it looks like. Some like it, some do not.
I've had good luck with Rockbrook. I just like to have them in hand within a day once I decide. They have a lot of options (the best being matte paper) and ok, their Legacy location is on my way home so that helps.
Haven't tried mpix, I might have to do that.
