Tuesday

Did you see last night's Northern Lights?

Re: Tuesday

  • I wish.  I didn't even know that they put on a show last night until I saw the discussion on Facebook this morning.  Some day I would really like to see the Northern Lights!
  • Nope, didn't even know about 'em.

Our water is shut off all day for the city to work on the main. Of course this couldn't be a daycare day for C! :( I just hope it's back on in time for me to shower after my run tonight.

  • Me neither, Kasa.  Jim and I were watching Bridesmaids.  Um... I didn't know Bridesmaids was anything but funny.  I think I felt sad more than I laughed.

  • We were also drinking a cockail of apple cider, gingerale and wiskey.  I've seen it on Pinterest, so we gave it a shot.  Mmm...

Andy and I watched Bridesmaids on Sunday and laughed quite a bit.

I didn't get to see the Northern Lights, and had no idea they'd be visible here.  :-(  It's on my Things to See Before I Die List.

  • We didn't see the lights either. DH went outside to see if he could see them but came back in disappointed.

I got an IKEA catalog in the mail yesterday. I want to go to there. :)

For the WestSider's here. Sobie Meats opened in their new location today and will be offering more produce now. I stopped in this AM and  picked up some boneless pork chops for a recipe I'll be making tonight.

I watched it with several girl friends and laughed, but wondered why the bride didn't call the skinny blond out way before she ruined *every* event.

  • We are doing a annual fund campaign for work. Letters were sent to our current members and those that expired.  I got a letter in my work mail box saying "We missed you on the orginial mailing list because your membership expired."

Well...sucks to be you because last Thursday I spent $110 on Allison's dentist appt, $125 on Mia's well-child visit; I also spent $80 on brakes this weekend and found out my  struts are bad and caused my one-year old tires to be completely shot, so I either need to get new struts, new tires to get me through spring, or go ahead and get a new car. I also have to pay for flu shots next week for the girls and I, so that will be another $90. I don't forsee a membership and donation in my budget anytime soon.

    Oh yeah..I have received a $0.25 raised since 2006.

  • Yeah, it was a funny movie.  I think I identified a little too much.  My life was falling apart for a bit when my best friend was getting married too.

Willa tells me that  her school friend named Harmony has a sister.  Her sister's name is Har-moan-y.  I don't know how it's spelled, that's just how they say it.  So, now I can't figure out if Willa's playing a joke on me, if Harmony is playing a joke on her, or if the girls have very terrible naming abilities.

  • I had no idea about the northern lights until this morning either.  Boo!

Bridesmaids was funny, but not as funny as I'd hoped.

Because it was a movie and that wouldn't have been as funny? ;-)

  • I agree that Bridesmaids wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. I found it a little on the sad side too.

  • I thought Bridesmaid's was great.  Definitely made me laugh.

  • Speaking of that, we rented the movie on Amazon On Demand.  And I had NO idea that you could rent TV series.  I see us spending some money to watch Boardwalk Empire. :-)

  • YAY!! Our discharge paper's for the bankruptcy came in the mail today.
  • hmm...I deleted my one post and deleted it's children... I didn't realize some of the other posts were children. i think i may have accidently deleted more messages than i meant to. Sorry if I deleted yours.

Thanks Chymes.   If TH was at his old company and it was doing good, I would move on, however I just don't feel comfortable leaving the stability of this job behind and PTO because it is hard for TH to take time off when the kids are sick.

  • I had no idea that you were staying because of stability sake.  I'm sorry that's the case.  I know how that is.

So, now that "my child" has been deleted by gvsu... another issue: I was supposed to meet with this person 2 weeks ago, but she called me sick, and then never called me to reschedule (like I asked her to, as in "when you're feeling better, lets reschedule"), and I kind of got some attitude.  Meeting is in 30 minutes.  Not looking forward to it.

Kasa, I'm sorry you know where I'm at, and have a similar (longer lasting) experience.

I totally understand. But your frustrations combined with your insane commute...ugh. I think you have more patience than I do.

  • Further NZ research has found that I will not be a homeless hippie in a van (down by the river).  Our CC doesn't cover insurance on the campervans (only on car rentals) so the additional cost of the insurance made it a more costly option that staying at hotels/motels/B&B's and car camping.

We did just book an overnight cruise through the fjordlands and I'm SUPER excited for that. :-)

Agreed.  Not that gvsu has more patience with you, Chymes.  More than me.

That trip is going to be so awesome!

Don't get me wrong...I like 90% of my job and most of my CW, however the extra factors limit my willingess to move on.

  • Got it, GVSU.  I hope the 10% doesn't come up any more this week.

I'm back from my volunteer meeting.  Air has been cleared, I think the future will be better.
