Politics

I know there are a lot of different political views on this board, but um, can we talk about Herman Cain? The thought of him being president scares me more than when we thought Sarah Palin might run.

Can anyone explain why he seems to be becoming more and more popular?

ETA: Ok, so maybe he doesn't scare me more than Palin, but he at least scares me just as much.

Re: Politics

  • OMG I know.

One of my former students from where we used to live has moved here to intern for him and fills up my FB  feed with Herman love. He has creeped me out from the begining and I'm not sure how he got so popular.

He used to work with my Aunt at the beginning of both of their careers ( they graduated from MOrehouse & Spelman respectively the same year) and she says he was creepy and off even back then.

I think he is a nice distraction from the GOP these days. I'm sure in a few more days he will fade away like Bachman, Perry ect.

Me too. All the options are kind of scary for me, but I don't think any are more scary than Herman Cain.

I kindof like Ron Paul. No joke. I mean I wouldn't support him over Obama, but the man has some great points.

Yeah, not impressed all around. I'm with you on Ron Paul, just a little nervous about him being nearly 80.......

  • I also like Ron Paul better than any other candidate, but I agree he may be a little old for the job.

I'm impressed by none of the Republicans right now.  President Obama may sway my vote depending upon what happens between now and then.  I don't think he's done a terrible job so far, I just think a lot of his voters were disillusioned when they didn't get *everything* they were expecting from him.  His hands are tied on a lot, any POTUS's would be.

That being said, I like Herman Cain as far as the fact that he's a businessman.  However, I also think he's a little c0cky, based on statements he's made about the Occupy protesters.  I don't agree with the Occupy people, really (if I even knew what they heck they were protesting?!?!?!) but to say that they're all jealous because they didn't go out do what the "1%" has done is painting in really broad stokes.
