Re: *cutekate*

  • Thanks for checking on me! I'm doing well I have most of my Xmas shopping done and almost all of the baby gift returns done as well! Other then that I am trying to find ways to fill the next 3weeks. There's only so much shopping and tv I can watch! But last friday at my appt we found out the baby is back to being breech so ive been doing exercises to help flip her head down and from what I can tell- they aren't working! So if she's still head up this Friday I have to schedule a c- section- even though she might flip before c-section he wants a date in the book. But I am feeling good regardless, my biggest complaint is my feet feel like I've been walking on broken glass all day by the end of the day! How are you feeling?

i know c-sections aren't eveyones favorite but i loved that dr. s did mine! he kept me calm and was cracking jokes and singing in the O.R. your in good hands! it kept me so relaxed and actually asked G if he wanted to stand up and watch his son be born. great bedside manner! so happy your so close!!!

Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3
• Yes I really like Dr. S so thanks again for the recommendation!

Im not too scared of a c-section being that my sister has had 3 of them. But I dont really want the birth to go down that way if I have a choice- it just feels really unnatural and it would only give my hubs a week with the baby after I was released from the hospital which really sucks. I will do what I have to in order to have a healthy baby but I am still hoping for a vaginal birth

  • I'll keep my fingers crossed that little Miss cooperates for ya! I have to say I'm quite jealous/impressed by your Christmas shopping being almost done. I have to get on that! I'm feeling good, thankfully. I have been really lucky this entire pregnancy. No m/s, swelling (well yet at least) or any of the typical symptoms. I had few crappy days here and there but nothing too bad. My only big complaint is I'm ridiculously hot at all times now lol.

  • NYBride, I'm in the same boat as Kate as far as having a breech baby at 36 weeks, but thanks for your comment about Dr. Simonson, because you made me feel reassured! I have a tentative c-section scheduled for November 29th ...

Huh? He won't be at home ever again? He won't be with the baby in the hospital?

  • Karen are you looking to bring your snarkiness back to the board again?

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • No. I am just not understanding your statement if you have a csection your hubs can't spend time with your baby.
    LilySlim Weight loss tickers
  • Nic- I saw your maternity pics you posted on FB very cute! It kind of makes me sad we didnt do professional pictures during my pregnancy. I am glad you are feeling well.

Tessajd- how come you dont have a ticker? I totally forgot you were pregnant! How are you feeling minus the breech aspect?

What's there to not understand? She would be in the hospital longer with a c-section than she would with a vaginal delivery which will then take away from her time at home with DH and baby post delivery.

  • Thanks Jezz!

Navy- step off! And while your at it why dont you get back to making your blog post where you can send all of the newbies/regulars with questions since it bothers you so much to read the same stuff over an over.

    Stepping off!!! LMFAO.

Sorry I just don't think a day or 2 extra in the hospital is that bad and usually your DH is with you. They are still with the baby and at that "stage" the baby is being held or sleeping, again not seeing the big deal here.

  • Doooode wtf happened here??? Geez...My nice pleasant post got all jacked up. Oh and Kate, thank you. I am so happy we did the pics. My photog has a bunch more. I can't wait to see the rest.

  • And I can understand being bummed about your hubby not being able to spend as much time home after. Since T is an independant operator, he had to schedule someone to work for him months ago. If Baby D comes late, we may not have any family of 3 time that we would really like to have.
    Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • doesn't matter what the "stage" is. it would be nice for more family time especially when its your first and you are learning about your baby's routine. i understand why she would want her hubby spending more than a week at home. i dont think i could manage being by myself with the baby without g's help. especially with your first. i was so sore the first 1 week at home and there days/nights that i couldnt physically get out of bed, plus you cant drive for 2 weeks. it was nice to be driven to my dr's and the baby's appointments.

Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3
• This is becoming a real dumb debate.

There is emergency family leave, FLMA for fathers, etc if more time is needed, he has NO vacation more than 1 week with a such a high rank and what not for the NYPD?

I am ALONE a lot, and yes it can be hard at times but it is life. I am sorry I don't have much sympathy. I came home with Charlotte and next night DH was back at work and I had a csection and a 15 month old at home.

    LilySlim Weight loss tickers
  • thats great that you did everything by yourself. shes not asking for sympathy.. she wishes that her husband was home with her more than a week to help... doesn't matter if its life or not. its her family, her baby, her concern. its understandable.. i dont think she owes anyone on this board a reason why her husband only has a week home with her. its nobody's business.

And that was/is your problem. All cutekate was saying is that that is one of the multiple reasons she'd prefer a vaginal birth. I don't know anyone who thinks, I hope I have a c-section - I can't wait. Yet, as always you have to add your snarky two cents for no reason. Maybe we should all start giving you snark. For starters, if you don't like the repetitive posts, instead of making a blog that nobody will read, don't read the posts, simple as that.

When you post on a message board you are open to being judged. You judge me, I judge you. Right?

It's ironic how it's always you who does the judging and has something negative to contribute. Don't you have better things to do with your time/life?

Kate -- I've forgotten how to do tickers. :) I'm due on November 23rd. I feel pretty good, although I've had to sleep on the couch in a sitting up position for the past two weeks... I can't complain, though.

  • I am quite thoughtful and insightful most of the time. I just have a low tolerance for some things. Sorry if you don't like that.

As for better things? my kids have been sleeping since 8, DH is working and I am doing homework in between this entertainment tonight, while watching Sons of Anarchy since multitasking is my middle name. Thanks for asking.

  • Kate, in the future I will make sure I pm or fb message you asking how things are going. I was and am genuinely curious how you are doing esp since our due dates are so close. Not that it was any of my doing but Sorry if this post ended up causing you any stress or aggravation.

  • Nik- its totally fine. I was excited to see myself getting paged especially when it was something so thoughtful. I am used to Navys bullshiit and it sucks that some people are such attention whorres. Whatever please feel free to page me in the future if youd like!

Navy- its none of your business what my husbands rank is or how much time he gets off but thanks for being so concerned with my family.

However, as usual your debbie downer attitude is disgusting and toxic. Whether we judge each other or not on here, if you were raised with any manners you should have learned if you have nothing nice to say in response to someones post you shouldnt reply.

  • Kate, Nik & Tess - I can't beleive you're all so close! Congrats and good luck with your deliveries. :)

Kate, a certain Amanda B. that we went to HS with is also pregnant! I don't want to say her full name, but I'm sure you can guess the girl. She's due in April and doing great.

I don't usually comment on the dramz, but it's kind of sick how this turned into a comparison of who is home alone more or who has a harder life because of their husband's job. We have a lot of PD/FD wives on here and we should be supportive of each other, not cutting each other down for wishing our husband's were home more. Sheesh.
