Does anyone have a Roomba? What are your likes/dislikes?
Our new house is going to have wood floors in all the rooms except the bedrooms. Currently we have all carpet and tile in the kitchen and I vacuum/dust mop dog hair every single day. Wood floors are going to be a nightmare, so I was thinking of getting a Roomba that can run at night to try to cut down on the tumbleweeds. My concern is that it won't be able to handle the dog hair.
Re: Roomba?
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. My Blog
They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
Your new house? Sheeeesh you really are leaving us huh?
I've considered getting a roomba off and on for years, our house is all hardwoods/tile, not a stitch of carpet, and we have two cats and a dog and a long-haired human. I only have time to vacuum once a week, in the interim we just name the furball-tumbleweeds and consider them very quiet extra pets. My concern (and the reason I haven't bought one yet) is that our house has a lot of hallways/doors/small rooms so I think the roomba would just get stuck a lot. I have heard many people say it only really works well in wide open, uncluttered spaces-- which is the antithesis of my house.
I will be very interested to hear your opinion though if you get one.
You are welcome in my house any time!
The roomba is a big help just to keep up with the tumbleweeds. We ran ours at night when everyone was sleeping.
Yes, Dana#s had one she really liked, I think it was made for like a workshop so it was a little more powerful to handle the dog hair... if I remember correctly... or I'm smoking crack (while 5 months pregnant, call CPS)
The reviews online were always just so LOVE or HATE it on the Roomba back then that I decide to just get a stick vac. I got the Eureka Quick Up when we put our laminate in and absolutely LOVED it. In our last house, 2000sqft, everything but the bedrooms was wood/tile. The Quick Up was great.
My BIL/SIL have some sort of more swiffer like roomba think that they seem to like. I don't know the name of it though.
I have a Roomba and I love it! It's on a timer and starts around 11:30pm. It definitely helps with the pet hair.
Happy to hear that you are headed back to your family/friends in the Mitten!
