If You Could Change...

One thing about your appearance, what would it be?

Like.. just snap your fingers & it's changed - no surgery, etc.

  • Lose 20 lbs. I'm working on it but it'd be nice to snap my fingers and have it gone.

    Ditto.

Second to weight, I'd like better eyebrows.

  • I wish I had better legs. I hate my legs..... So I guess the 20lbs thing too.

(Maybe I shouldn't have eaten that turkey bacon club for lunch.....)

  • My hair. Naturally wavy and frizzes so easy.

  • I would make all this extra weight disappear to give me a shape that does not make me look at all pregnant.

If weight weren't an option, I'd get rid of the bags under my eyes.

  • I'd get rid of my stretch marks. I haven't had a kid but already have them everywhere.

  • My arms. I hate them. I've lost 30 lbs and I feel like I still have elephant trunk arms. I I untagged myself in a FB pic yesterday because of my arms.

  • The stubborn cellulite that lingers on my legs. It's annoying because I just don't know what to do about it. It's totally a genetic, fibrous tissue kind of thing. I don't know how much losing weight would ever help it. I have what's considered a lean body fat%, it's just the way my damn body holds onto the fat that I do have.

  • This thread is making me sad. I feel like we might as well be circling the fat on our bodies with markers during sorority initiation. lol

Everyone please report to the "best thing I ever ate" thread. It is a much happier place. :)

  • Current appearance:  I'd snap my fingers and deliver my baby.  No labor, just a snap! haha

Typical appearance:  There's lots I don't like.  I'll go with cellulite removal.

  • Weight... I'd like to lose quite a lot.

If weight wasn't an option I would love straight teeth without the pain and expense of braces and possible surgery.

Honestly, braces were relatively painless in my experience. I am so glad my parents shelled out the cash for them.

I'm glad I had braces but for me they were anything but painless. Just keepin it real.

Yeah...they hurt like hell for me.

Yeah, my sister's (five YEAR) journey with braces was a nightmare for her. I think it varies widely - both cost and pain.

  • only slightly related... but my brother and I both had pre-braces issues.. and he had the thing where your top pallate (sp?) is too narrow.. so he had to have an extender thing and you had to crank it every night, and apparently it hurts like all get-out........... and I used to beg to turn it. hahaha

Where's muh handbasket? I have a long journey to somewhere warm and toasty.

  • I'm looking at the extender, possibly losing some teeth and about 3 years in braces. My teeth are jacked up. BUT, they're very white and I've never had a cavity. My little brother has perfect straight teeth that look like crap. We can't win them all.

See, I had the pallet expander and from what I can remember, it didn't hurt that badly. I remember being in tears over those white spacer things they use though.

This discussion is making me seriously reconsider my need/desire for braces.  It's all out of vanity and I guess I could just smile without showing teeth for pictures from now on.

  • I should probably clarify that my brother was the world's biggest cry-baby/drama queen on the earth.

After 3 sets of braces, 2 palate expanders and reconstructive jaw surgery, I'm going with painFUL!

  • Better hair.  My hair is baby fine and I loved how it thickened up while I was PG.  It didn't just lay there all flat.  I hate it now since I am now losing all that hair.  I am honestly surprised I am not bald with the amount of hair I lose on a daily basis.

I had 4 years of braces and jaw surgery as well and it was painful!  Worst part of me was that after my braces came off I was lazy and didn't wear my retainer like I was supposed to so my bottom front teeth moved and now are slightly crooked.  I would love to get them straight again but don't really want to shell out for money.  I wish my 18 year old self had been smarter and wore that retainer.
