Shopping help please

I am needing some new black flats.  Mine are falling apart.  I need some that won't get soaked in the snow this winter and make my feet cold.  I don't want heels either because then I would have to buy new pants.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!!!

ETA:  I should add that I don't want to spend that much money.  I would like to stay under $20 if possible.  I'm such a cheap as$.

I have these in another color and they're super cute and comfy!

ETA: Those aren't going to help with snow - honestly, I would get a pair of boots and switch when you get to work! Much easier!

  • Those are super cute!  I like the pewter color too!

I thought about boots, but didn't know if flat boots would look funny.  And I don't really want to carry another set of shoes to work.

  • I rock rainboots to work in the winter and just toss my shoes in my purse. I feel like I carry so much stuff to work anyway, another pair of shoes won't make a difference.

Maybe clogs would work? It's hard to find warm, dressy flats!

  • Tell me about it!

  • I would just leave my ballet style flats at work and wear boots (Ugg style) back and forth. We get a lot of snow here and any weather appropriate shoes I always thought were so fugly.

I did get a pair of Clark's Proctor boots last winter though which I'd wear under dress pants. They were quite expensive though.

  • I have flats from Spring Shoes and I would wear them in a little snow cover. Obviously, not walking through a huge drift. They are a bit more expensive than you want, but I got mine on clearance and spent maybe $40 for both a brown and black pair (so $20ish each).

If you sign up for emails you get code to view clearance and its 50% off additionally and you get a 10% coupon code. Not sure if they are stackable. There are lots of cute ones in clearance in black like:

  • I usually get flats with a little bit of a heel because if I don't, I wear the soles down so much, I've ripped a hole in the actual shoe part in about two months

And last winter I kept a pair of cute flats under my desk at work and work boots back and forth. Of course, I live in Canada, and so we have snow on the ground pretty much from December - March...

  • I have like 359679 pairs of shoes under my desk. I rock flip flops to and from work in the summer/spring/fall and Ugg like boots in the winter.

  • You have all just saved me from a long winter of cold wet feet. Leaving shoes at work and wearing boots to/from is GENIUS!

We have two separate buildings, and while I don't travel between then every day, it is a couple times a week, and I've been DREADING doing it in the rainy/windy season. Bring on the cute rain boots!

  • I think this is why God put me in California.... I'd go nutso if I had to think about shoes this much... I like the idea of wearing the boots back and forth (who cares which ones they are or what they look like) and then just wear the cute flats or whatever around the office...

The question here about shoes comes up 15-20 times/year and it's whether it's raining enough to have to put the flip flops up for the day and wear enclosed shoes.... can't trust the news... everytime it sprinkles here, they plaster "storm watch 2011" on the screen... puhlease, lol.
