Pinterest week 2 submission

Here's my date art! I cut the numbers out on my Cricut and then stuck them on individually. When I started sticking them on I thought it would be way more time consuming than it was. I'm pretty happy with the result, it would probably look nicer if it I did it with a program like the tutorial did but I like it.

We didn't know where we were going to put it so it was hard deciding on a background color so I just went with some paper I had. I then decided it will go on a gallery wall when we move so it will work!

Re: Pinterest week 2 submission

  • Super cute!

I just decided I am finally going to get off my arse and finish our gallery wall behind the couch.  I've had the frames to finish it forever!  I'm going to do something a bit different based on a pin I found.

  • I cannot wait to move to get one together. We have a space for one now but I'm not doing anything to this house anymore. I think I'll probably make a trip to Ikea for the frames when I do. Where did you get all yours?

  • I got them from Michaels.  I am doing just 6 though, the wall isn't that big.  They're black right now, but I think I am going to spray them and the mirror in the room oil rubbed bronze.  I just have to do it when Jerry's not home to avoid the eye rolling he'll give me for spraypainting "perfectly good frames."

I wanted to do something with Ikea frames, but the only ones I could find that worked b/c I need big square ones were like $15/each and I couldn't justify the cost when I needed 9 of them.  Plus Ikea frames aren't white white and it would have driven me crazy next to our bright white trim, I'm too anal, lol.

ETA: I would also check the hobby lobby near you too, esp with the sales and coupons they have.

  • I was thinking about spray painting the frame I used for this - I guess I'll see when the time comes to hang it.

I didn't realize the Ikea ones were so expensive! Good tip for Hobby Lobby! I'll be going to the one in Fredericksburg :)

  • I don't think all of the Ikea ones are expensive, but the square ones were.  I think the regular sized ones were probably priced much better.  I just don't remember now.

I miss living so close to an Ikea.

  • That looks so great!! I think I have that project pinned somewhere, but maybe I'll just have you make mine ;)
