Anyone try My Gym with LO in Boston, Newton or Medfield?
Today DS and I are going to try a baby gym class at my gym in Boston. It's a little pricy, but there really isn't anything else in my area I can walk to. (We live in Brookline and I don't have access to the car when DH is at work). Has anyone tried My Gym at Boston or the other locations? Isis isn't having any classes for DS age group, and Brookline has the Soule recreation center, but I don't think it's a walking friendly route and I don't want to have to walk more than 1-1.5 miles in the winter with DS.
Re: Anyone try My Gym with LO in Boston, Newton or Medfield?
Well, the membership is the same throughout the 3 locations ) I think $100 for family, $75 for individual-which is what I would use since we have 1 kid, then $25 foe each sibling). Supposedly this is a lifetime fee you pay, and you can transfer locations, which is nice if DH and I buy a house next year, we would be closer to the Medfield location.
The cost of "tuition," at the Boston locale is $94 for 4 weeks and they want you to sign up for 8 weeks in advance. They also have open play hours, so if you make it to 1 one play a week it's not as bad (about $11.75 a play session if you go twice a week). I think its expensive, so it better be a great experience. But you can have makeups if you miss a class and you can not be enrolled for a period of time (so I might skip January) and not be charged.
Also, if you get a referral they take $20 off your bill. DH co-worker's wife goes there, so I used her name.
I'll post again late this afternoon when we get back.
I wish we had a less expensive option, like a Y, that I could walk to. The place looks great in the promotional video though. I'll let you know how it looks.
Definitely let me know! $300 for 1hr/week for 8 weeks is a lot. It would be cheaper in the future, but still...
I like the idea of it because the classes seem a little more age specific. At the Y, our options are swimming lessons and what sounds like a more "open gym" type class.
