it's moving day!

my office... my old office, that kept me safe and warm for the past 8 years (and three years before that, when I worked here before).... to a new office. Big, and with windows! and individual heat control!

funny thing is that I had to clean out file cabinets to move my stuff around and I found materials datig back to 2000... the woman who sat in this office never, in 6 years, cleaned out the cabinet. Says a lot about why she was let go a few weeks ago, huh?

I think ya'll should come over for a champagne toast! (I'll probably be here for a spurt this weekend to settle in... as good as I am, I can't work, move and clean at the same time....)

Re: it's moving day!

  • I have a bottle of champagne to donate to the cause!  (Super big yay for being able to control the temperature yourself!  Oh, the power.)

  • Whoo Hoo! I just moved offices too, into a space with two huge windows. I think the natural light will make such a huge difference in my mental health and attitude, especially in the winter when it's dark when I get here and dark when I leave. Congratulations on the new space!
  • I found a small file box of material I never unpacked from my office move (Tysons to DC) in 2005. So what did I do? Packed it again for my DC to Tysons office move in 2010. So, this box has survived two moves and zero unpackings. I need help! At this point it's just nostalgic material anyway (old contact lists, photos, etc.).

(We joke that in 2015 we'll move from Tysons to DC again.)

    Enjoy your new space!

  • Congrats! Get some cava and I am so there! I'm praying I get to transfer to our virginia location in a few weeks! I am so over commuting or working in the "city"- damn I sound old:)
