Help me justify doing some shopping....
My H's squadron is hosting a holiday party in a couple of weeks, it's a semi-formal event being held at a hotel. I told him I should go dress shopping to get a fall appropriate dress. He thinks that I have plenty of dresses (maybe about 5, one long black formal one and a couple summer dresses).
I'm thinking a bright summer colored dress (even if the style is appropriate for the event) is not going to look right.
Why can't men just understand these things?!
Anyhow, I've been looking online and found this.
Thoughts? Any other ideas?
Also, I know I haven't been here in a while, but you are all such great dress shoppers!
Re: Help me justify doing some shopping....
I'm not sure if that dress is what I'll get, I need to go try it on because I think it might not work on my body.
I really just wanted to have reassurance that I need to go shopping!
I changed my name
Is there a reason he doesn't want you to? A financial reason? Do you routinely overspend your clothing budget or fun money budget? Do you guys budget like that?
I'm a super tightwad, but when H needs something (and I would agree your current closet sounds inefficient to take on this party), I acquiesce.
Love that dress!!!
And you're right, summer dresses would look weird.
My husband is just not big on clothes shopping...in fact, I don't think he has bought anything new in at least a year. He doesn't understand needing a whole array of clothing for different occasions, he wears the same couple things depending on what is going on. I think his viewpoint was that I have bought new dresses for the last couple of events I've needed them (i.e., a Dining Out and his winging), so why don't one of those work?
No budget reasons or anything. I went out this afternoon and found myself a dress. Haha! Now on to pick shoes and accessories.
Um are we married to the same person? DH is the exact same way. I have to clean out his closet when he isn't home to get rid of stuff that is shot and I just buy new stuff and bring it home and say here you needed these.
H is the same way. He also does not understand the need for all of my shoes. He says the he only needs four pair (boots, dress shoes, running shoes and flip flops) and doesn't understand why I have so many different kinds of shoes in the same color.
