Shoe Repair: Cobbler?s Bench, Cannon House Office Building, sub-basement level near U.S. Capitol entrance.
SO glad I'm not the only one who thought of that type of cobbler when I read this.

Not in DC but Buck's Shoe Repair in Alexandria is great. My family has used him for 20+ years.
I also was hoping for pie recommendations. Bummer...now I'm craving pie, cobbers, and crisps.
