Sometimes I HATE being on Salary
I just calculated all my "comp" time to send to our director of operations and she is NOT going to be impressed with the # at all...Since July (I can't take a ton of time off in the summer because we are SO busy) I have 79 hours accumulated and that is just from 2 art shows and a small golf tournament...I wish I could be paid for that instead...I'd even take just my regular rate and not "time and a half" to make it go away...UGH the joys sometimes!
Re: Sometimes I HATE being on Salary
I deleted my post because I think I read what you meant wrong.
Do you get any benefit for the 79 hours? If you do, I think that's above and beyond what most people get for being salary. I've always had a salary position and at only one job did I get any benefit for working extra hours.

At least it's offered right? That's nice that there's even the option to have comp time.
Last December I was just "told" I was going to have officer open/close duties, with no pay increase. I got added into the schedule and every 8th week had to open/close and work Saturday mornings, which equaled about 10 extra hours each closing week of work that wasn't compensated for in any way.
