I told DH that I would like some new kitchen gadgets, tools, etc for xmas. He said I should make a list and give it to him before xmas, since Im cooking xmas day and could probablly use some of the stuff.
I know I would like some wooden spoons and a fat seperator for gravy. Oh and a rolling in maybe.
When your cooking is there items that you dont have but wish you did? Ive been inthe middle of a recipe and had to substitute a certain size dish, etc. TIA!!!!
Re: Kitchen stuff
my dh broke my garlic press.. i want another one. it was so easy to press garlic into the pan instead of slicing it.
Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>
This!
Mandolin and food processor are two things I can't function without in the kitchen.
i def need my garlic press, so easy!!!
And for some reason I never registered for a food processor! I didnt realize everything it does. So I actually asked my mom for one for xmas.
Things I use on a constant!
Good knife
Decent size cutting board
Wooden Spoons
Mixing bowls
9x13 glass dish
i have one whisk, and would like some on other sizes - flat, mini, etc.
always wanted a mandolin
i had two immersion blenders and i know i gave one to my mom, and i cannot locate the other for a few years now. i'd like one again.
i'm interested to try silpat mats, and i also need new baking sheets - i've heard nice things about the william sonoma gold ones
love my garlic press
could use a deep dish pie plate
love my bamboo flat spatula and slotted spatula
love my mandolin. Just make sure you use the safety....
I love my mixing bowls, lock and locks, rubber spatula, hand mixer/immersion mixer, pyrex containers.
this is also great when hosting large parties:

as is small crock pots for hot dips during football season.
Great post Nikos! I may be asking for some of this stuff too!
I need a citrus juicer like its my J O B
i want a juicer too! mmmmm fresh carrot juice... apple juice.... yum....
i feel i am leaving out an important gadget but it is escaping me now....
ohhh do you like fried plantains? I love making tostone cups with this http://www.islaonline.com/prodinfo.asp?number=5989INM
or http://www.tostobueno.com/
i've stuffed them with shredded pernil or guacamole and salsa, well.... you get the idea.....
love the garlic press, mini food chopper (for all my veggies), and for convenience I have a decorate glass bottle with a spout that I put oil in so when a need to oil a pan I don't have to lug out the big container.
Oh, and a big item that I use all the time is the Kitchen Aid- not sure if you were asking for this type of thing or not, but it makes everything so much easier!
on my wish list is a good quality dutch oven- i have a pot that is stove top and oven safe but sometimes it's too small and it's so old i'm often afraid to put it in the oven
the things i use the most are- cutting boards, the mini food processor, kitchen aid mixer and the bamboo kitchen utenstils. if you plan on getting new wooden spoons etc, the bamboo ones are really nice. they are much more lightweight and really good quality. i remember getting them for my shower and thinking "oh great, just what i need (saracasm)" and now i use them all the time over the other one. i also second getting one of those nice olive oil bottles. so easy to use and less mess.
someone suggested that i get the attachment for the stand mixer that has the scraper attached -
I'd really like to get a quality dutch oven. Also new pots and pans, except for my pasta pot. I LOVE that pot and it's so much easier to drain with the lid.
I really should go through my utensils and see what I don't need or need to toss, I have doubles of a few things. It's getting cold again, so I'm doing most of the cooking.
I'd like the flat whisk, just because I think it looks cool. LOL
Maybe some good kitchen scissors? I want to buy a pair and hide it from DH.
s/o mixer attachements, the ones for homemade pasta are really nice.
I love my coffepot- it's the cuisinart one that grinds the beans each time
I'm in the market for a good potato ricer (great for making croquettes)
