Rec for photobook

Hey ladies. I'm planning to make photobooks for the grandparents for Christmas gifts this year. I've never done this.  Please recommend the sites you've used and please tell me about them - good background, easy to use, good quality books & pages, etc.

TIA!

Re: Rec for photobook

  • My favorite is Shutterfly.  They have a Custom Path that lets you choose pics and background and then it lays in the pictures for you.  Or you can create it on your own and it really has grown and is more like digital scrapbooking with the ability to add embellishments and move things around more.  I always do Shutterfly, so I have no other reccommendations!
  • Agree with pp. The custom route is super easy and I've gotten lots of compliments. Watch for a groupon for 1 free 20 page book, it runs probably 1x/month...otherwise Google for coupons :)

  • I used mixbook for our wedding album and loved it. When browsing the other sites a lot of them I didn't care for. This was all online and they have premade layouts or you can do your own. I love my book and it was so easy to design. They had a ton of backgrounds and ways you could crop your pics.
  • My favorite is MyPublisher! I love their software and if you sign up on their website you usually get awesome deals. I love when they do unlimited pages, I've been working on Austin's first year album for a while and I'm waiting for them to do unlimited pages again so I can order it. Seems to be about every 2 or 3 months that they do it and the last time was in September.

  • If you are looking for the highest quality and most professional looking (think photo book you would buy at a bookstore), use Blurb.  If you are looking for ease of use and a good price, use Shutterfly, but I am not at all impressed with their quality.

Yeah, probably looking for this b/c (a) neither set of Grandparents are very techy and will be satisfied with anything, and (b) I don't have a lot of time or skill :)

Thanks everyone! I'll check out Shutterfly and Google for some coupons.

  • Thanks S! I can't check PMs at work, so I'll check tonight.

PS - Your mom was picking up B when I was picking up S on Monday.  S had to go tell B goodbye. It was adorable.
