another fug or no

I got these boots at target, in brown. They came yesterday - I'm on the fence. I was going to wear with skinny jeans

Re: another fug or no

  • Upon first glance, they look like something I wore in the 90s, but I don't think I can give an accurate opinion until I see then on, with said skinny jeans.
  • My coworker was wearing something along these lines yesterday and I thought it was super cute.

  • like...i have a pair similar on today with tights and a dress :)  very hard for me b/c my tights are gray and boots are brown and I never liked that combo together
  • I've been on the prowl for some brown riding boots for a while. I'm obsessed with a few pairs but of course they have to be $$$. I like these, but I think I'm just not crazy about the big black rubber soles...maybe they just look that way in the pic?

I prefer ones that have soles like these:

    or these:

But that's just me being weird. LOL!

  • A&A - I agree about the sole and I think that's why they make me think of the 90s.  Granted, at that time, it was cool to wear jeans OVER the boot.

Now, where did you find those boots you posted?  LOOOOVE!

This. 100%! The sole is the issue.

I am wearing my brown riding boots today with tights and a dress.  My boots are from Ann Taylor, but I bought them 5 years ago.  I think I paid about $150 for them.  Now you may be saying "her boots are clearly out of style b/c they are 5 years old".  But I think I just left them in my closet long enough for them to come back into style.  Also, a good nestie friend told me that boots I wore this past Friday, which are also 4-5 years old, looked good and weren't out of style.

Maybe I should go downstairs and have KMS tell me if I'm wrong about my current boots.

  • Frickin' Von Maur. $300+ There is a pair there that isn't on the website that has this really cool braided stitching up that back, those are the ones I really want, but they were $180 I think, not bad, but still not what I would want to pay for something I would wear probably once a week for only the winter months... I'm also obsessed with these in the dark brown.

My growth scan went well Monday (finally) so they canceled the 36 week c-section idea for next Friday (thankfully).  She wants to try to get to 37 weeks now (11/11) if I get there with decent BP and still have fluid, we will try for another week.

Good news! I will keep praying for you and J to make it longer.  But 11/11/11 is a cool birthday (and it is also my Grandma's 80th birthday). :)

  • They aren't bad, but I like something a little less 'chunky' looking...

The Pioneer Woman swears by the Frye Jane Boot...LOL!  She was even giving them away on her site a few days ago..

My sister also had an entire blog post on her site about some must have fall items and boots were # one on that list.  :) Seychelles True Story Riding Boots.

Thanks, L :)  Yeah, I think 11/11/11 is a pretty cool birthday too :)  All I ask (after getting to 37 weeks) is that he not be born on 11/19 since that is Berkeley's birthday, haha.

  • my niece is an 11/11 baby but 11/11/11 is even cooler (coming from a 7/7/07 bride)

Here are the boots I am currently rocking today: http://www.famousfootwear.com/Shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?p=26701&pg=1024412

My BFF showed up to work today in these exact boots from Payless. They're totally not my style but they looked super cute on her with her skinny jeans.
