I'm a little "backed up," and my usual methods of clearing it out aren't working.
I had two dark beers last night, and no go. Then I had a Mountain Dew this morning with breakfast. And no go. I'm tired of feeling uncomfortable and bloated
What do you eat and/or drink to help things along?

This stuff seriously works. I had to use it since pain meds really stop you up.
For me, coffee helps too. Along with eating grain free.
Okay, so after being pregnant (hello constipation), and having a c-section (hello no pooping for 6 days), I can tell you that Colace works well, as well as taking magnesium to keep things moving after they've moved. If it's just regular constipation, I'd eat a roasted sweet potato - those work so well for me. Or, you can take some OTC fiber supplements, or eat a few prunes, or drink some prune juice. That being said, if you absolutely can't go and need to - take Dulcolax (or use the suppositories), and you'll go within a day (or sooner).
That being said - the things you tried are super dehydrating. Beer and soda (I understand you were hoping the caffeine would work) will only make you more dehydrated, making it harder to go. You need to be drinking a lot of water to help your bowels move and do what they need to do. Otherwise you'll just have hard, dry stools, and as you know, those are no fun.
HTH!

Thank you for all your suggestions! I'm thinking of trying the tea and lots of fruits later.
picks: You are right about me thinking that caffeine idea = #2, I usually drink that much caffeine, so that usually helps. And the beer is something we've brewed ourselves, and it's nicknamed Butt H*le Blaster, because of what usually happens to anyone who drinks more than 1 bottle (it's a high proof IPA with LOTS of hops). But the dehydrating element is something I should probably avoid, even if it usually works for me.
