I don't want to ruin your surprise if you're planning a big shocker for Erika's party.
But if it's not a surprise....what is everyone (adult or kids) going to be for Halloween? Or what were the costumes last year? I'm digging out an old pic from last year to share...would love to see yours!

Re: Costumes!
This year...I will have a little cow.
Last year I had a tiny lobster.
I don't have a very good picture of it but the last time I dressed up was a few years ago. DH and I dressed up at Peg and Al Bundy from "Married with Children".
Helen is going to be a princess. DH and I are going to be the king and queen, naturally.
I'm not at liberty to share the party costumes as I like to keep it a surprise, though this year's costumes aren't anything over the top. Let's just say as usual it is a tv/movie based theme and I put a clue in at the very end of the invitation. (Did anyone catch it? If you did, don't reveal the answer but let me know if the clues were picked up on!)
We're going to make a robot costume for James for trick or treating and I'm going to be the mad tinkerer/creator. We're going to fashion a sandwich board type chest and back plate covered in foil and all sort of miscellaneous doodads that DH has in the garage. DH even wants to attach some bike lights to it- so fun! We'll get some dryer tubing to make arms and/or legs and then we've got two tissue boxes we'll cover in foil to make covers for his shoes. I like it because he can dress warmly and still look awesome.
I'll wear one of our crazy afro wigs, the fake nerd glasses from the Louis Tulley/Keymaster costume from 2 years ago, a large white shirt from DH, and a toolbelt with some tools. Don't know if DH will also do something. I should try to convince him to be a bigger robot!
I haven't figured out what I'm doing for work. I'm trying to convince my coworkers to do a group thing, and I'd really love to be people from the history of communications (we're in the communications and public relations dept)- so like a cave man with cave paintings, 30's telephone operator, newsboy, minstrel, overly connected modern person, etc) but we'll see. Or we'll be the 4 seasons of Maine- winter, winter, winter, & road construction.
Erika - I got the clue
This year we aren't doing a whole lot since I still can't walk. We decided to keep DD's custome very simple since only DH will be able to manage her and we want some quick pics
She's going to be a puppy since she loves to say "Woof woof. " Not even sure if we'll go out and about...
Last year, I had a pink bunny. Caroline was born on Easter and I always call her my bunny, well that and peanut.
I think I get the clue. I hope you post pictures Erika!
No costumes for us this year. I'm going to a costume-optional party on Halloween but it's right after work, so it feels like too much of a hassle to get into costume.
I got Will a hot dog costume/bunting from Old Navy. It's amazing and combines two of my favorite things.
He's going to hate me later in life.

I think it looks more like a duck, but it was advertised as a duck/chick so we're calling her "chicky" like her favorite stuffed animal.
