Calling all INs!
I'm doing a research project for a sociology class I'm taking. I'm looking at expat experiences and motivations. I think I might focus especially on women who follow their spouses (appropriate, no?), but I want as much info possible, so I'm surveying men and women.
Here's the link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/V9MD3WP
It's just a quick survey, 10 questions. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Feel free to pass it along to any other expats you know. The more the merrier!
And, please, I threw this thing together as best I could. If there is anything else you'd like to add, write it here or send me a PM. Any information or clarity would be helpful!
Thanks in advance!
Re: Expat Research - Take a survey!
Thanks, Publius!
And thanks for the suggestion, brainie! I considered that, but I figure a lot of you will select "Proximity to Family" if you're living in your H's home country. Otherwise, just select "My spouse's work opportunities" and continue with your own experience since that's what I want to focus on. I'll definitely speak to our phenomenon (all of us married to foreign H's) in the paper.
Also, all of you former INs. Please take the survey as well. You can speak to your experiences in the past!
BFP Apr 2012, EDD Dec 19 2012 * twin h/b at 6wk, 9wk scan * Baby A lost at 12wks, Baby B was my rainbow born at 36wks
I know. I realized that as soon as I sent it out. Don't worry about it. Answer however you feel. I might just have to discount it, but I think it will give a few interesting insights.
Done.
Do we get to read our results
Shoot! Forgot about that option. Just changed it now. Have your H's take the survey or something and you should be able to see the results afterwards now. Otherwise, I'll let you know my results after all is collected if you want : ).
Done.
Oh, just thought of a great question.....
What aspect(s) of home that you try very hard to recreate or maintain?
Good idea! That will bring a whole new perspective!
Done.
As for your added question above, I'd say we try hard to celebrate holidays the same as we did at home, especially the ones not widely celebrated here (Halloween, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, etc.)
Done.
We do Thanksgiving and I love to make tex-mex food! The food reminds me of home. I also call my best friends several times a week because that is what I did at home.
I guess I should have read the replies first. It didn't occur to me to put either of those things.
