Nutmegger and other royal lovers

What do we think of Kate's dress here?

Frankly I love it. It's nice to see her in something kind of strappy I think, rather than all those high-neck gowns she's been wearing (the McQueen to teh BAFTA gala, the Jenny Penham to the ARK gala, etc. Sure her Beulah gown was a v-neck but also long-sleeved.)  I'm down with her dressing appropriately for her role and position in British society/culture but I also like seeing her dress in something different sometimes.

I don't feel like doing work today. you all will have to deal.

  • I think it's pretty but it really makes me want to force feed her a Big Mac. She also looks 8 feet tall compared to the people she's talking to. How tall is she?

:-( to the Big Mac comment. I feel so bad for her with the weight criticism. She HAS put on a few pounds since the Canada tour.

I actually don't think she is THAT tall - I mean I think she is tall but maybe 5'9? I think she always wears heels.

Hm I googled it. It seems she could be between 5'8" and 5'10" depending on which site you look at....

  • I liked the cut, but I thought the color could have a been a little darker I guess.  It was too pale IMO.

I agree she's a little bony for that dress though.

Has anyone else noticed that she's frequently photographed w/ a drink in her hand?  Not to imply that there's an issue w/ it, but I feel like this was formerly a big no no and I don't recall seeing pictures of other royals, esp. Diana (or really even William) at official events w/ glass in hand.  Seems like one of the royal "rules" has been relaxed.

Ooh nutmegger prob knows this better than me but I'll take a stab!

I think there are specific rules regarding that (eating and drinking at official functions) but I think the big reason she always has a drink in her hand ("always" = the two or three events where she's been photographed with one) is to ward off pregnancy rumors.

  • I think that the dress probably looks darker in person than in pictures- in that one picture it looks nearly white- probably due to the flash?

I like the dress, but I am not too sure about what it's doing to her boobs, kinda pulling them apart in the one photo.
