Best thing you've eaten recently? I made pumpkin pancakes from Trader Joe's over the weekend and they were so yummy!
Something you're looking forward to today? Leaving early! I didn't get home from a site visit until 11:30 last night and I was still here at 7:45am. I'm a morning person, but I'm leaving early this afternoon before I fall asleep at my desk.
Something you're bummed about today? The weather is not all that nice outside.
Any vents, FFC's, comments?
I love winter, but I'm not ready for these snow flurries in the weekend forecast. I have a 20 mile run to do on Sunday and I want it nice.
Hi, I'm new, but I'm going to play along.
Favorite show on TV now? Toughie!!! I'd say a tie between House, Parenthood and Glee.Best thing you've eaten recently? Girl scout cookies.Something you're looking forward to today? SLEEP. It's been a long week. I was jetlagged all last week coming back from Maui and going right back to work, and then we had a really busy weekend with our AHR... I feel sleep deprived.Something you're bummed about today? I have grading that I need to do, and I don't feel like doing it. The weather always gets me down... and I had to drive into work today, Reisterstown to Baltimore sucks because of 795, 695 AND 83 traffic. I hate days that I have to drive. I love taking the metro.Any vents, FFC's, comments?Life and Love at #16 | our married life blog

- Any vents, FFC's, comments? I don't know how single parents do it. I've been the only one caring for DD this week and I am exhausted. I'm glad that she is a relatively happy baby and she goes to bed at the same time every night, but it is still tiring.
My AW. I was dropping DD off at daycare and I noticed the one worker looking at my shirt. I apologized because I thought my shirt had come up a bit and I was flashing her, but she said "No, I was thinking about how skinny you are. You're in great shape.". HA! I couldn't even do 4 minutes of wii boxing last night without weezing and I haven't exercised since I had DD, but it made me feel great! And it gave me an excuse to eat more candyFavorite show on TV now? Modern Familyand Real Housewives (all of the cities)
Best thing you've eaten recently? Pulled Pork I made for dinner on Sunday. The Teddy Grahams I'm eating right now are pretty tasty.
Something you're looking forward to today? Picking Anderson up from daycare
Something you're bummed about today? The rain especially since I have a ton of errands to run today
Any vents, FFC's, comments? Our internet connection has been off and on for several days. We've had nothing but problems from Comcast. I'm so sick of it and ready to switch to Direct TV.
Favorite show on TV now? American Horror Story--it is the best show EVER
Best thing you've eaten recently? Wasn't healthy at all, but one of my students brought in these cupcakes for her birthday and they were just wonderful
Something you are looking forward to today? Wegmans dinner and ALL of my DVR shows!!
Something you're bummed about today? Not seeing DS tonight (I am at school late for an event, and my mom offered to keep him overnight)
I am actually pretty happy with things right now!! No vents--maybe a Confession: My mom cancelled thanksgiving at her house and I am kind of bummed that I am going to have to cook--I kind of like feeling homey and going to my moms for that day...I guess it's just me being selfish.
Favorite show on TV now? Modern Family, Glee, Homeland, and Ringer - I can't pick just one
Best thing you've eaten recently? The garlic mashed potatoes and Cheddar Bay Biscuits I made on Monday were pretty much awesome. Oh, and the spinach salad I had last night. I could eat it every night.
Something you're looking forward to today? Getting out of the house for a bit. I have a few errands to run and I'm leaving shortly.
Something you're bummed about today? Not bummed about it, but I'm not looking forward to Body Pump tonight. In fact, I kinda want to cry just thinking about it.
Any vents, FFC's, comments? I'm annoyed with DD's school. Her classroom has two teachers and the primary teacher is out this week, so a teacher from another classroom is substituting. Each day I've gotten a My Day report in her folder that tells me what they did that day and, most importantly to me, how my DD behaved. She's not a bad kid, but if she acts up in school, we talk about it at home and there are consequences - so I need to know how her day goes.
The other day her My Day report said that she had, and I quote, "screamed" at the assistant teacher. When I talked to the assistant teacher about it, she said that the primary teacher (the substitute) tends to exaggerate. DD was troublesome at the start of nap time, but she settled down and all was well.
Yesterday her My Day report said that she was pretty much horrible at naptime, kept other kids awake, had to be removed from the room. I went to talk to the assistant teacher and she gave me a thumbs-up about DD's day (she was across the room and stuck under a pile of kids). She's giving me a thumbs-up but the primary teacher is telling me that my kid was pretty much a total brat??
WTF would you exaggerate a child's poor behavior? Yes, TELL ME when she misbehaves. I want to be involved and informed and when she's acting up, I want to correct it at home to help drive home the point that her behavior wasn't acceptable. I want to talk to her about it and have the chance to teach her... 'cause, y'know, that's my job. But I can't do that well if you're exaggerating her behavior. Why would someone do that?!
I'm grateful for the assistant teacher, who I know doesn't hold back, is honest with me, and is good with my kid. At least I know I can get the straight story from her. And I'm thrilled that the regular teacher comes back next week and I can quit worrying whether I'm getting the truth or not.
That was long. Sorry!
