Re: Thankful Thursday
Is it Thursday already? Wow. I guess I'm thankful this week is going pretty fast.
I'm thankful I get to see my friend's new baby tomorrow, and that I get to work from home tomorrow.
I'm thankful for our fun Halloween plans this weekend.

I'm thankful for my programmable coffee maker. It is sooooo nice to wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, especially on days like today.
I am incredibly grateful for my amazing family, friends and even co-workers. I really have such a wonderful group of people in my life, I should count my blessings every day how lucky I am.
Last but not least, I am thankful for cashmere. It is such a great help getting me through these chilly mornings in my windowless basement office
i am thankful for an impromptu wednesday night date with DH since our buddha bar coupon was about to expire. we haven't done something like that in awhile so it was really nice.
I'm thankful for the small blessing of normal days.
I am still thankful for our new apartment.
I'm thankful to be in a position to afford to be able to help my sister pay for one of her classes next semester since no one was in that position to help me, which led to many stressful evenings for me in college. I'm glad she doesn't have that pressure.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I'm thankful that most of my coworkers are at an offsite meeting this morning so I can work without as many interruptions. I hope to be able to finally get my work self organized.
I'm thankful that a good friend is a title attorney, so he was willing to come to our house last night to close our re-fi. Taking hours of vacation time to schlep out to Tysons and sit in a sterile conference room would have been miserable.
I'm thankful for a reasonably priced, close by Halloween party this weekend (can't wait to dress up!!)
I'm thankful that DH is done with a book I've been waiting to read so I can delve into it today.
I'm thankful for the friends I've made in this area and grown closer too. I still miss my besties in PA, but I'm so thankful my newer friends here.
Planning Bio
So much to be thankful for this week, not the least of which is the quite nice bump in pay I got notice of yesterday. Moving to the new office, settling in, folks being patient with me. Still so very, very thankful for the promotion....
Thankful that John is FINALLY going to be working on the kitchen ceiling repair this weekend. Said bump in pay is going to be used to hire a painter before the holidays -- that will make me MOST happy!
QS - congrats on the refi! DMuppet -- 6 days... long time to be away.. glad you're back!
not at all thankful, on the other hand, that the biopsy is tomorrow. (but YAY for Valium! 5 pills for only $1.80 -- how nice is that?!) and a PDO to recover afterwards, and finish my Christmas wreath that I started at DctoLow's house what - three weeks ago? and finish seasons 3 and 4 of Weeds (I am a latecomer to that show and LOVE it!)

I'm thankful for the usual - C, DH, our crappy house, our jobs, our family.
Which is boring to read, but I've been feeling kind of restless and unfulfilled lately so I need to remind myself.
I am thankful for friends and family and for modern medicine.
I just heard that an old high school friend committed suicide and it has reminded me of my mortality.
In the past few months, I've found out that a middle school acquaintance is suffering from advanced cancer along with his wife, a college acquaintance died during the hurricanes, and now my high school friend has died. I expected that as I got older I'd hear about more deaths and illnesses among my peers, but I didn't really think it was going to start quite yet.
Let me add to this- I am thankful that even though I punctured my fingernail with a sewing machine needle, modern medicine has vaccines and I got a tetanus shot. And that vaccine also includes the pertussis booster I need to get to protect my LO.
Our NT scan yesterday showed a healthy baby!
Dh quit his job yesterday and had a new one 4 hours later!
I am thankful that my new boss (who got the job I wanted) really is amazing and gracious. I am thankful for DS and the giggle fit he had today.
