If you cook a Turkey for the holidays (or just because), how do you season it?
Usually we just butter it up and that's it but we are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for friends this year and I want it to have some more flavor.
Also, has any one ever grilled one before? How did it come out? DH wants to get 2 and put a smaller one on the grill.
TIA!

Re: Turkey!
We've fried our turkey the past 3 years, usually inject it with a cajun marinade that's amazing. Super flavorful, but not too cajun-y that it doesn't go with the rest of the meal.
This year I think we might still inject, but I think we're going to try smoking the turkey this year.
Stand up for something you believe in.
That's the recipe we use, but I've never added butter at the last hour, I'll have to remember that if we decide to not fry the turkey this year. For our fried turkey recipe, we also followed Alton Brown's recipe.
I wish we could fry the turkey, yum! Thanks for the recipe rec, that one was on the short list of ones I found online, I think I'll go with that one!
