What would you wear?

I am going to a wedding this weekend - I am wearing a black dress, and red shoes. What would you wear on your legs?

Re: What would you wear?

  • What's the weather forecast? Is it a formal wedding?
  • Forecast is 51 degrees and showers (but everything is inside, so I am not really taking the forecast into account). Afternoon ceremony/evening reception. It's not super formal, or anything like that, just normal wedding attire.

Also, keep in mind I am 4 weeks from my due date, and this is a family wedding, so I can pretty much get away with wearing anything I want! haha

My initial thought was to wear nothing - since everything is inside, it will keep me cooler (pregnany hormones cause me to be warm most of the time, plus I will be running around after Jack I am sure). But then I thought maybe I SHOULD wear something. I figured you girls could help me make the final decision =)

  • I was at a wedding last weekend and wore black tights with designs on them (thanks to the girls on this board!) but I think that with a black dress, black tights would be a bit too much black.

In your case, I'd wear nothing. There were a lot of ladies at the wedding last weekend with bare legs--I don't think anyone would think twice about it!

    I agree.

  • I think black with black is too funeralesque.

I'd go with nude, only because I like to be warm and insides of places you never know if it's going to be chilly. And if it is warm, I like to say, you can always take clothes off. ;)

Meh.  Black with black is practically the state uniform of New York.  LOL.

I voted black texture - but if it were me I'd get something with a lot of texture so a lot of 'nude' showed through just because I think textured tights are fun and I like the contrast w/ skin tone.  If not, I'd go bare legged.

  • I voted for nothing because I know there is no way in h3ll that I would be putting on any type of panyhose or tights in my condition.  I don't even know if it would be physically possible for me to get them on...if I WANTED them on...which I don't!

lol this is a very valid point - I actually thought about this. I can't imagine anything staying up all that well, and the last thing I need is to keep doing a little shimmy so that my tights/pantyhose are not around my ankles.

Thanks for your input ladies, I will stick with wearing nothing. Much easier in the end =)

PS - Heather, the wedding reception is at some hotel in downtown Rochester. Unfortunately, the weekend is PACKED so I won't have time to meet up with you at all (like I wanted to), but I will be in your hood all weekend! That counts for something right? haha
