So one of DH's hockey buddies has season tix to the Flyers, and has AMAZING seats. Like 4 rows off the ice, in the corner where the Flyers can score in 2 out of 3 periods. He told his buddies if they wanted tix he's willing to sell some off to them.
I got his email and asked if I could buy a set for him for Valentine's day against the Rangers (big rivalry team) which is the weekend before Vday. He said of course, and I had heard the tix were $150 ea, so I said $300 right? He didn't confirm the amount but said to mail him the check to his address. I postponed sending it bc I'm tight in my checking with having bought a bunch of kids school clothes. I emailed this am asking if it's ok if I wait til early next month and he said no prob, but it turns out they're only $200 for the pair!!!
Seats like 20 rows back are like $130 each so I am getting a break on the cost (no transaction fees either of cours) AND way better seats! AAAHHHH I can't wait for Valentine's day! I would have done Christmas but there aren't any games we could go to with the schedule with kids and the home games. I'm so happy this worked out so great!
Re: What a deal I got!!!
That's awesome and I'm sure your H is going to love it!
I am amazed you can think and plan that far ahead.
Since we have pretty limited number of games we could go to, I didn't want to chance someone else getting the tix I wanted. Plus it was initally going to be for Christmas but it didn't work out so I thought I'd just do Valentine's and be done.
Now, what to get him for Christmas?? :-p
