Your SOs "number"

Haines' post below got me thinking...[Poll]

Re: Your SOs "number"

  • Meaning: the number of partners your SO has had sex with Devil

Yeah, I hope if I were sleeping with someone I'd have their celly digits ;)

  • I know it, but it doesn't really matter to me and the same for him...
  • I voted that it doesn't matter.  What really matters to me is that he is STD-free (which he is) and that he was safe (which he was).

For me, it isn't a competition (in either direction).

They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
  • We know each others' numbers, and I'm twice what he is. But he was with his ex-wife for about 7 years total, and he's only 29, so he hasn't had nearly as much time to "experience" things as I have. I'm fine with what his number is, obviously.
  • Number of partners isn't as important as number of STDs.
It's just me and my Marlon now... and I LOVE it that way!

  • Eh.  I think that sexual decisions are like any other decisions, in that they reflect who the person making them is.  The sort of person who'd have a high number of partners would be incompatible with me, just as the sort of person who would have waited for marriage would be incompatible with me.

  • It helps for me to know!  Doesn't have to be exact but an idea of his past.  This is probably because I had a past relationship with a guy who was over the tops with his numbers, I thought it would not bother me but it did.  He was just way too experienced in some department that I couldn't keep up for the life of me.  It was important to him and he had no patience with me.  He was a big douche but at the same time, I would like to know early on what I am getting into before I get too deep beyond the surface before starting a relationship.  I don't have all the time in the world to learn the in and out of each person I date.  I also think having way too many relationships brings much higher expectations as well because there was so many past loves to "compare" with. But that is just me!

  • Not necessary.

    This.

We have an idea of each other's numbers, just from talking about where we've been in life.  I think ours are the same, or at least thereabouts.  I haven't really felt the need to ask for a definitive number, nor has he.

    This is my siggy.
  • I'd be lying if I said it completely didn't matter to me...it doesn't have to be an exact number, but a general ballpark.  If BF's "number" were unreasonably high or unreasonably low (i.e. 0), it would bother me.

That's how I feel too.  Although I know I'm an idiot for spilling my exact number Tongue Tied

  • This is close race. It's only 50 votes, but still. Interesting.

  • When I first met H I was a virgin.  He was not, for some reason I felt it was important I knew how many came before me.  It bothered me for a long time and I regreted asking.  Now, I could care less.  As long as he only has one CURRENT partner why does it matter how many previous partners he had.
