Weather

Can we complain about the weather for a little while?
The heat in my office is not working properly. I'm freezing my buns off. Is Target selling gloves yet? That would make me happy.

Re: Weather

  • YES! Let's complain! I'm surprised no one else has brought this up yet and I thought I was just being a wuss after being south of the equator for over a week!

I was so sad at how dark it was outside when I got up this morning.  It seems way too frigid for late October and I feel completely unprepared for winter to be here already.  Le sigh.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Oh yeah, Target is ready to go. I just located my box of scarves, and DD already wore her snow boots out in the rain.

    And damn, snow already?

  • This weather is awful.  I am not going to meet my goal of waiting until Nov 1 to put the heat on.  We have already agreed to turn it on tonight.  Our house was 55 this morning.

Target had some warm looking hats this week.  I'm sure they've got gloves too.

Yeah, I'd say November is usually our minimum goal before turning the heat on. But when we got back from our trip Monday morning the house was 55 degrees just as you're describing and we absolutely had to give in at that point and crank up the thermostat.

  • How cold is it there?  It is 58 degrees and raining here on Philly.  I hope I packed ok for this weekend.

Cold. Right now it's 45 degrees and raining. Bring sweaters. And scarves. I think it's supposed to be in the high 40s/low 50s this weekend.

I just went out for lunch, and it's so disgusting. We finally have heat in our apartment, however. We'd been assuming our landlord hadn't turned it on, and he'd been assuming it was working just fine. Turns out, it was broken.  So he got it working last night.  It's still not fixed, and he has a guy coming to look at it, but at least we weren't seeing our own breath in our house this morning!

We change the clocks back pretty soon, right?
I ended up going home at lunch & grabbing a thick sweatshirt.

  • I packed cardigans, scarves, and a wool coat, so hopefully I will be good.  I seriously doubt DH turned the heat on in the apartment yet seeing how he is never cold.  Thinking about it now, I think I may also pack a warm blanket just in case.  He was talking about buying a new comforter set this weekend, so we'll see.

I am so not ready for winter yet.  But, I do have a new long (mid-thigh) ski coat and some kick-ss new snow boots.

Target is right around the corner from my work. If they didn't have gloves, I was considering buying a snuggie. It's miserable out.

Ohhhh, I can't wait to see the cape.  I love the beach.  Grew up a block from the beach and feel the most at home when there is saltwater in the air.

You & Doug can come visit anytime. Although Chilly & Pepper are afraid of waves.

  • Our heat is on. *sigh* I hate winter. What happened to fall? Why does it always only last 2 weekends?
