Re: Tod Moms: Bathtime

  • This has been the hardest thing for me back to work FT.  We get home at 6:45 and she is IN BED at 7:30 so doing bath means very little cuddle or downstairs playtime and.....I just kind of hate doing it.  Blah.

I have to do it tonight  and I'm already dreading it.

  • In the summer and when she's really messy it's definitely every day. I think once winter comes around we may cut it back to every other day so her skin doesn't get super dried out. But she really loves bath time and splashing around.

    Now I don't feel so bad. :)

We're the same way, there is no such thing as a "short" or "quick" bath so it seems to soak up so much of our evening. We do it every few days, unless we know he's had a particulary messy day.

I know I should be creating good washing habits because I get to deal with the joys of pre-teen boy stank down the road. Eh. Tongue Tied

  • I try for every other day. She gets in the shower with me most often instead of an actual bath though, so it's pretty quick

Maybe I'll try that tonight - though she loves the bath.  I've only ever showered with her in my arms (and it was at the pool in bathing suits) and she hated it.  Maybe if she was standing she'd like it better?

  • Mostly every other day, but sometimes everyday (if she gets dirty) and sometimes every two days.

Neena LOVES baths so sometimes I use them to put her in a good mood.

  • I should be more routine about this but sometimes it is literally--when was the last time Elle has had a bath?  Oh we better give her one as I don't remember.  She loves them, it just is a time factor or she is just so tired it becomes a screaming actviity.

I have done this more times than I can remember!

We had problems with dry skin with Marshall when he was younger, so our pedi told us to give him a bath every 3rd day...but it's hard to keep track of that!  His skin is doing much better, so I think when Baby K gets here we'll go to every other night for each one...which means bath time every night.

  • It's usually every-other day for us, and for whatever reason, I love her bath time.  Maybe because it's really the only time she isn't making a mess.  Ha.

    This:)

  • Every night! She is such a tom boy and plays all day at daycare in the sandbox and hanging from trees! She also is a messy eater and loves the routine of bath after dinner! It calms her down.

  • Baths are a struggle at my house simply because the twins go to bed at 6pm and DH doesn't get home until 6:30pm.  Abby gets 3 baths a week because DH just bathes her after he gets home.  We bathe all 3 on Sundays and then I bathe the twins again on Wednesday (or at least I try).... I'll admit the twins haven't had a bath since Sunday cause I haven't had time (running around every night getting stuff for their party). Don't judge ;-)
