BR: I'm a heifer.

I've gained 21 pounds so far! With Nolan, I had gained a total of 26 pounds on delivery day. Yikes.

Luckily, I'm still about 10 pounds lighter than what I was when I got pg with Nolan, but still.

The "twins book" says that for my height/BMI 21 pounds is actually perfect... a pound a week. But I remember from N that I gained most of my weight in the last 10 weeks... so this makes me very anxious!

Oh, and I'm sitting here eating Halloween M&M's... sure that doesn't help matters. ;) All I can say is pleeeeeeease let the weight come off as easily this time! I googled "twin skin" the other day as a result of a post on the multiples board and got very scared. I may need a tummy tuck when this is all said and done.

Thanks for listening. :)

  • Okay you have 2 babies in there so of course you're going to gain more! And according to your book you're right on track!! What does the book say about weight gain during the rest of pregnancy?

And be sure to get the dark chocolate peanut M&Ms... extra protein to go along with the dairy and dark chocolate is good for you Smile

  • It says 1 lb./week until week 26 and then 0.75 lbs./week until week 36/the end. So a total of 36-42 pounds. My OB hasn't said a word so I think it's just my own body image issues getting in the way. When I lost all of that weight after Nolan I told myself I was never going to see those numbers again. Well, little did I know I'd be pregnant with twins a few short months later! I'm sure it'll be fine, I just have to remind myself to make good choices through the holidays. ;)

    And those m&m's sound amazing!

  • Its funny because with Abby I gained 60lbs.... then with the twins I only gained 30lbs and 10 of it was in the last 2 weeks.  But, I was also super sick with the twin pregnancy so it was hard to keep much down.  Since I had gained so much with Abby (lost 30 of it by the time I got pg with the twins) I tried to eat a lot healthier with the twins.  By 6 weeks pp I weighed 20lbs less than when I got pg!!  It was a great diet... too bad I gained those 20lbs back :- /

Oh and twin skin.... I didn't have the best tummy to begin with, but I now have a nice fanny pack of lower stomach below my belly button...  ugh, I hate it!!!

  • Sounds like you're doing everything right, Momma.  Don't worry about the end - you likely won't go as long as you did with N, right?  So, there you go!
  • I'm scared of twin skin too!
