Re: the source restaurant
I had a really great meal at the Source right after it opened - yum!
Their service was stellar - I believe that they hired a bunch of staff away from The Inn at Little Washington, so everything was truly top notch.
Enjoy!
i have had lunch there and it is delish.
here is the menu on the website. what type of foods do you like?
http://www.wolfgangpuck.com/content/files/foodmenu_Source dining room4.pdf
im pretty basic when it comes to food, i like chicken, and steaks, and shellfish(not a fan of any other fish, lamb or pork) I also don't like any of the nicer cheeses, goat, blue, feta, and i HATE mushrooms and tomatoes......man, i'm really boring:(
i saw the desserts look yummy...really nothing else matters:-)
I hope this doesn't come across as rude, but how much is the gift certificate for? I ask because it doesn't look like prices are on the menu and it doesn't sound like it's your cup of tea. A dinner for 2 with tax will probably cost you close to $200. If you're nervous about the menu, what about dessert and drinks (and maybe appetizers) at the bar instead?
I haven't been to the Source, but I was disappointed with another one of Wolfgang Puck's flagship restaurants, Spago. It was good, but I thought it wasn't worth the price. I've heard good things about Source, and I would be excited to try it with a gift card. But if you think the gift card may not cover the cost of the meal, and you're not that excited about the menu, dessert and drinks at the bar might be more fun.
The gift card is for $100, but honestly after talking to DH about it last night, I think I may want to try adn sell it on CL or something, as a nice treat to ourselves, we are more ruth chris, mortons kind of people...do people buy gift cards on CL? like if i were to sell it for a bit less??? if im going to go through the trouble of finding a sitter etc for an occaisonal night out, i want to go someplace that I KNOW we will like..
any nestie takers? I will put an ad on CL this weekend!!
thank you for all your help/suggestions:-)
