BWB: Morning sickness

The all day sickness with this pregnancy has been the absolute worst compared to my others. I am nauseous ALL day long. I spend about 75% of my day in the bathroom vomiting. I have tried Zofran, Unisom, B6, salty foods, peppermint, Ginger, crackers at the bedside, but nothing seems to have helped so far. Yesterday my OB told me to start taking Prevacid and Zantac. He also prescribed me fioricet for my migraines and is trying to get me Bio Bands, which many of his patients have sworn by for relieving morning sickness. Is there anything that any of you have tried that worked for you?

  • Per my OB the next step is steroids and then a PICC line if all else fails. I'm looking into acupuncture, which was recommended by a co-worker.

  • I got nothing but sympathy for ya cause I was sick everyday, all day, with my twin pregnancy.  Started throwing up 3 days before my BFP and kept yakking every day until I had them!!  Hope you find something that helps!!
  • I'm right there with the sympathy.  I'm 20 weeks on Monday and still getting sick. I take Zofran all the time and basically can't move quickly at all.  And I eat constantly.

  • Phenergan worked for me.... you sound just like how I was with Natalie.  I thought I was starving my baby and dying.  :(  I hope you feel better really soon.  Phenergan was the only thing that made me feel like I could live somewhat functionally.

  • I'm sorry you're so sick. I usually stuck with soup, crackers, and ginger ale. I still felt nauseous but it wasn't intolerable. When I actually threw up, there was nothing that helped. I hope you feel better soon!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  • I never had a chance to try them, but an OB nurse swore by b-natal lozenges.
