s/o Ice cream

Am I the only one that is grossed out by the marble slab concept? I just can't do it. Mix me a shake or a flurry, fine, but I don't want my ice cream smeared on a counter.

Re: s/o Ice cream

  • I'm with you. it's gross.
  • It's cold marble... not just a plain counter. LOL

(this is my rationale and I'm okay with that. :))

That's kinda what Ithought of it too. I didn't think they used the marble for anything else. It always has a frost on it too. I'm an ice cream junkie... so maybe that's why. Now that I think about it having my ice cream smeared on a counter is gross.

  • It does not freak me out.
  • It has never crossed my mind to be grossed out by the concept...

I can see what you mean, but their ice cream is delicious.

  • I never really thought about it.  Not sure whether I think it is gross or not, but the thought did make me laugh.  Thanks!
  • At least I see that counter & can witness that it's at least not crawling with trash & bugs.  Who knows what happens to our food when it's being prepared in commercial kitchens.

  • i don't get why it would be gross? i'm not an ice cream fan, but if i ever eat it, it's usually at a marble slab type place.....my dad and i used to go there and eat just ice cream for dinner (my dad = awesome).
  • It never occurred to me to think of it as gross. The only thing they use that marble for is blending the ice cream. Give me that delicious Marble Slab ice cream any day over something like Baskin Robbins (which I won't say no to if it's my only option, but it can't hold a candle to MS).

    This.

  • I've never thought of it as gross either. It's not like it's a surface shared with raw meat.  It's an ice cream store...
