Your Halloween costume for you or your kid?

Are you dressing up this year? How about your kid?

Re: Your Halloween costume for you or your kid?

  • Bug is a ladybug and Bean is a witch. That is not what I had planned, but my parents were supposed to bring stuff for their costumes, and they didn't, so I had to come up with something else really fast. Most Halloween stuff here is done during fall break, which has already happened, though they will get to dress up again on Monday at preschool. I'm not dressing up since T or T is not common here, but I would if I thought people would show up at the door, or if my girls were old enough to want to go out themselves.

  • We have no plans to dress up ourselves or dress up our baby.  It would be a little difficult to dress up a baby that's still on the inside!

That doesn't mean DH hasn't been searching for a pumpkin costume for Aurelia for the past couple months.  Poor guy, I told him it'll have to wait til next year because she's most likely not going to be born by Halloween.

  • I should also add that my girls have non-costume Halloween wardrobe. ;) Yesterday, Bean wore her "ghouls just wanna have fun" shirt. Today she's in a dress that looks like a black cat, and Bug is wearing "I love my mummy."

    That's so cute!

    I'm dressing M up as a pirate.

  • Haha.. I think I am still a kid at heart. When I was in the States, I bought this black cat winter hat that I have been wearing around my neighborhood. I think people must think I am crazy. I guess I can just wear it on Monday.

  • DS is a bumble bee, DH is a wizard and I am a queen bee I guess.  This is our first year dressing up and I am looking forward to it, and seeing what other people are going to come as!

  • DH and I went to a Halloween party last weekend. We were Mario and Luigi.
  • Cole is going as a Surf Rescuer or an Australian Lifesaver.  Its a multi-purpose outfit.  Its a swimsuit with rash guard and swim hat.  He'll be able to use it all in a few months when its swimming season.

  • He's going to be McBabyD. We got a kilt in Scotland and are using this as an excuse to make him wear it a few times. Have a white t-shirt to tuck in and white tube socks to pull up to his knees.

Also have an issue with costumes and the temperature here. We're doing one early evening event and his school is doing a trick-or-treat parade on base mid-morning. It will be 80-85F. The costumes I was finding for his age/size would be way too warm.

  • I am not dressing up, DS is going as Mr. Potatohead.

  • I'm not dressing up. W is a knight (St George I suppose?) and M is a dragon. They had a party last night, but there isn't really T or T here  - or I'd dress up, like Bugabean said.

I just "aww"ed out loud. I'm excited for you!! Lots of positive thoughts headed your way.

  • My only Halloween festivities happened at school yesterday. I wore my cousin's Penn State Trooper hat with my Ray Bans - I wanted something easily taken off so if the three year olds got scared, I could go back to normal "lady who talks funny" me. Many of the poor little ones got real nervous when they saw one of my coworkers as a skeleton!
  • I dressed dd as a ballerina today for daycare as she had an outfit someone gave her ages ago that just barely fits now.

Unfortunatley the outfit my mom sent (a lamb outfit) was lost or stolen in the mail and didn't arrive :(
