Office temp question

I hate to be a pain in my new office but I'm really uncomfortable and feeling sick at work, especially in the afternoon. I thought most office run on the cool side but I'm very hot and stuffy at my desk. What is a usual temp for an office?

Supposedly people in some areas are cold, but I saw the thermostat today and it's at 76.

Definitely layers! In my building, you dress according to the inside, not the outside. And even still, I have a fleece blanket in my office for days when they're freezing us out!

The thermostat in your office is probably right...it will depend on if you sit by a vent or not too. I would get a fan.

The thermostat in my office is set to 73 and I put it there. The other two people in my room like it cooler but I don't like having goosebumps at my desk. They didn't mind when I raised it.

If you can't change the thermostat I'd try getting a fan.

Our temps run between 74-75 degrees. We have a small office with a total of 5 people, 3 of which are always cold. My boss who tends to run warm, has a fan in her office.

I have no idea what the temp is in our building. But like PP said, I have to dress for the office, not for the outside (must be a state thing).

Today I came in wearing a sweater and they have the heat jacked up. I might be cracking my window a little bit later. A few weeks ago I had my sweater on since they had the a/c blasting.

We are always having issues with the temp in my office. In the winter it's sweltering. Last winter it was around 83 in the office (and I was pregnant so it felt worse). Just a couple weeks ago, they still had the AC on full blast and people were shivering and wearing coats. Today its actually comfortable, but I don't know what the exact temp is.

Our office is always freezing. I have to wear a turtleneck sweater, wool pants and thick socks just to keep from shivering. It's ridiculous. They keep the A/C pumping until like December and we only have crappy baseboard heating that doesn't do much.

My office is usually cold and colder. However, in the summer, the 3rd floor is usually really warm.

Ditto pp, dress for the temp inside not outside and bring in a fan.

I always dress for the office than outside.... since every office is so different. Layers are my best friend.

I always dress opposite of the seasons lol. My AC works REALLY good, and my heat works REALLY good- so in the spring and summer it is freezing (55 usually) and in the winter its hot.

My office is whatever I want it to be. We have oil heat, so it blasts and then fizzles out.

we have heating issues. i wear layers have a heater and a fan at my desk. there are times when i wish i could be naked its so damn hot at my desk.

I guess I just find it easier for cold people to put on a sweater since there is a limit to how little clothes I can wear if I'm hot. I wore a skirt and short sleeve shirt this week and I was hot. I'll look into a fan, good idea.

what kind of office do you work in? Is it small enough where you could ask them to adjust the heat. i'm in a govt building and we have no control over the heat.

Yeah, I guess I'm just not sure how or who to ask about it? My guess is that there are people in there who are cold and they wanted it warmer. Other areas of the floor are cooler. At Hopkins we had an office that we could call about temp and they would come check it for us (like when the a/c was broken last summer) but because I'm new here I'm not sure what to do.
