Ranger

Dumb question.

For your c/s with the twins, when did they break your water?

I was thinking about this last night, don't ask why, but with Z the broke my water in the bed expecting a normal labor .... but when you go in for a schedule c/s when do they do that? Obviously they don't cut into ya w/o doing that first, right? Gew!

  • not ranger but I had a secheduled c/s and they didn't break my water before my surgery--I think it was part of it--I never thought about it til now.

  • I'm obviously not Ranger, haha, but I also had a schedule c-section, and they didn't break my water at all beforehand.  It just bursts out when they make the uterine incision.  Once they had the external incision open, they told DH he could look over the screen to watch, and he said as soon as they made the cut into the uterus, it basically burst out everywhere.  Kinda gross, but I also wish I could have seen it.  Morbid curiousity, I guess

  • Not ranger either, but yup, the "rupture at delivery." The c/s set up drapes plastic-like material over the abdomen that turns into a bag to try to catch the fluid.

  • Just like the others said they rupture your water during the surgery.  You can hear the lovely sucking sounds from the tubes and whatnot.  Sure its sucking up amniotic fluid, blood, etc.

With Abby my water broke on its own during my induction, like you Trickey.
