Have you seen this?
The UK and the 16 commonwealth countries that have the Brittish monarch as their head of state voted unanimously to change the succession laws. Now the first born child, regarless of sex, will inherit the monarchy. They also removed the prohibition about marrying catholics.

Re: Hey royal watchers- Succession law changed
Interesting!
I still get sort of squealy when I see that pic of them on their wedding day. She is so beautiful.
When they were on the Canadian tour I remember seeing an article that indicated some reluctance to try and change the succession law. Apparently some of the Common Wealth countries are becoming more anti-monarchy. The writer thought it could become a referendum on the monarchy itself and said the palace might be afraid to rock the boat. (I am pretty sure it was a Times of India article.)
On another note, do you think they'll try to put off having kids until after the Queen's Jubilee next year?

Ditto this- they dated forever, and were essentially "secretly engaged" or engaged to be engaged for quite a while. I imagine the Queen would be thrilled to have a great-grand child present or on the way for her Jubilee.
I also think the new Phillips baby will add some pressure. BUT Kate said in Canada that William has some deployment scheduled this winter where he will be gone for several weeks (maybe a few months?). So in my mind they are waiting until after that.
I also think they know once there is a baby - and heir to the throne - there will be pressure to be full time royals which is something I think William is delaying.
